There comes a point in life when you realize it’s time to turn the page and start a new chapter. After a lot of thought, I’ve decided that time has come for me.
When I started Gadget Ambulance, all I had was about $2,000 and a dream. I had no idea if it would work. Most people would tell you to open a business in a bigger city where there’s more foot traffic. Instead, I opened it here in my hometown of Sparta.
I wasn’t chasing foot traffic. I wanted to solve a problem.
Living in a small town, I saw how limited technology services were. If your phone broke, your computer stopped working, or you just needed help with technology, you usually had to drive out of town. I wanted to change that.
Over the years, Gadget Ambulance became so much more than just fixing devices. I’ve met so many incredible people, built friendships, and earned the trust of this community. That’s something I’ll never take for granted.
With that being said, I have some bittersweet news.
I’m excited to share that I’m working toward passing Gadget Ambulance on to our General Manager, Cody. We’re in the process of finalizing everything, and if all goes as planned, he’ll be taking over in August!
This wasn’t an easy decision, but I truly believe it’s the right one. Cody cares about this business, our customers, and this community. I know he’ll continue taking great care of everyone who walks through the door. Even though you won’t see me at the shop anymore, I’ll still be behind the scenes helping however I can to make sure he’s set up for success.
I also want to clear up any speculation. I’m not leaving because something happened or because the business is struggling. I’m leaving because I’m ready for the next chapter of my life. I’ve decided to go back to college to pursue robotics or a related field, and I’m excited to see where that journey takes me! 🙂
To every customer who’s trusted us, supported us, shared our posts, recommended us, or even just stopped in to say hello, thank you. You gave a small-town business a chance, and I’ll never forget that ❤️
I hope you’ll continue supporting Cody the same way you’ve supported me. Gadget Ambulance has always been about serving this community, and I know that isn’t changing.
From the bottom of my heart, thank you. This little business started with $2,000 and a dream, and because of all of you, it became more than I ever imagined!!!!!!
Thank you all,
Mercedes
