On this webinar, Parux partners Cesar and Ken, discuss the challenges of managing and communicating feature requests for product teams of all sizes.

In this episode, we’ll discuss:
👉 How product teams can manage feature requests so that you can evolve your product strategically and with a focus on value.

👉 The value and challenges of having continuous communication and dialog with your customers.

👉 How to create and implement a scoring model to evaluate new features.

👉 Why prototyping isn’t just for MVPs!
Based on numerous studies, we know that about 95% of all products released fail. Those are poor odds, but it has nothing to do with chance. The 5% that succeed do things that the other 95% do not. This is our passion – not to lean into failure, but to lean into what makes companies and products successful.

If you need help with strategy, tactics, or any kind of planning when it comes to preparing a prototype, don’t hesitate and please reach out to Cesar Keller or Ken Mocabee. We’re happy to connect and provide any guidance.

Launching Digital Products is a game within the game. My business partner Ken Mocabee and I discuss what the Top 5% of Product Teams do to improve the success of your digital product initiatives. And one thing these teams do is plan for launch early and in parallel to the product build.

Here are some of the pain points we see that stakeholders miss:
1. Many groups don't take the time to start the marketing/sales strategy early enough. They wait too late and miss opportunities.

2. The launch is a one day event, instead of a series of well crafted events as a campaign to gain the most traction.

3. Many don't consider the advantages of combining branding and culture to provide the best storytelling and engagement to attract users and gain more customers early on.

At the core of every product initiative, you have to prepare for your MVP launch. The ultimate goal should be to extend the launch process beyond a single event. And prepare yourself on a process to craft a broader narrative over time. This takes time and strategy, it shouldn't be figure out at the last minute.

By prolonging the launch period and leveraging multiple touch points, companies can reach a wider audience and ensure their message resonates with diverse stakeholders and deliver more impact.

Some of the strategies discussed on this webinar include:
→ Letters of Intent / Pre Sales
→ Pre Launch Momentum
→ Referral Strategies
→ Waitlists
→ Soft launch vs Hard Launch

There are many clever ways to set your launch up for success. We hope this conversation provides some insights as to how you can prepare your launch for greater traction.

In this episode, Cesar and Ken have a freewheeling discussion about:

→ The hazards of using of offshore teams for development
→ Why fixed bids are risky and can actually sink a project

In the ever-evolving landscape of digital product development, efficiency and consistency are paramount. As the demands of users continue to evolve and competition intensifies, companies are under increasing pressure to deliver high-quality digital experiences quickly and cost-effectively. In this environment, design systems have emerged as a powerful tool for achieving these objectives.

And if you are in the top 5% of product innovation teams, you're highly likely to leverage design systems as a part of your strategy within design and development responsibilities.

In this webinar, Mason (director of UX/UI for Parux) and I have a candid conversation about design systems. From pain points to stories to insights within our team workflows at Parux. We wanted to share our experiences and share value with our audience.

Understanding Design Systems
At its core, a design system is a collection of reusable components, guided by clear principles and standards, that helps ensure consistency and efficiency in the design and development process. It encompasses everything from typography and color palettes to UI components and interaction patterns, providing a comprehensive framework for building digital products.

Benefits
→ Scalability
→ Maintainability
→ Productivity
→ Consistency
→ Improved code and design quality
→ Better knowledge sharing
→ Avoiding siloed knowledge
→ Closing the brand-product gap
→ Promoting the company’s design philosophy and principles
→ Better brand and guideline adoption through shared ownership

Design System Insights for inspiration that can be shared across:

→ Founders, Owners, Stakeholders, Project Leads
→ Team Leads, Production Teams, Designers, Developers

Are you in the process of designing and building a digital product? If so, please consider the power of a design system as you develop your roadmap and begin the journey. But why?

(1) SPEED & EFFICIENCY 🚀
The breadth of the design system directly correlates with the reduction in the need for bespoke CSS classes when implementing new features. CSS serves as the language for defining document presentation aspects such as font, color scheme, and spacing. A robust design system translates into streamlined coding for novel features and less reliance on impromptu design decisions. Therefore, monitoring the growth rate of CSS and comparing it across various features provides insights into the design system's efficacy over time. For instance, assessing the time required to develop a new component for different use cases within and outside the design system offers valuable metrics.
↳ Save huge amounts of time in the long run! 🏁

(2) ADHERENCE 💪
The extent to which developers and designers adhere to the standards of a design system inversely impacts the necessity for ad hoc coding in feature development, leading to enhanced efficiency gains. Improved adoption is evidenced by a reduction in the proliferation of unique CSS properties.
↳ No more Ad hoc coding - be strategic! 🎯

(3) COLLABORATIVE OWNERSHIP ⭐
Active participation from developers in shaping the design system correlates with its usage. Quantifying changes made to the design system serves as a proxy for shared ownership within the design team. Increased engagement from designers requesting modifications and updates reflects a stronger sense of shared ownership, resulting in amplified efficiency gains.
↳ No more silos between design and development teams! 🤝

In this webinar, Parux partners Cesar and Ken discuss the importance of proper discovery, and common discovery mistakes and pitfalls that founders and product teams make.

Based on numerous studies, we know that about 95% of all products released fail. Those are poor odds, but it has nothing to do with chance. The 5% that succeed do things that the other 95% do not. This is our passion – not to lean into failure, but to lean into what makes companies and products successful. We call this “The 5 Club”.

In this episode, we dig into what we call the 3 Dimensions of Discovery:
👉 The Customer – How identifying pain points and problems that are worthwhile to solve is the key to finding Problem / Solution Fit.
👉 The Market – We’ll talk about the importance of understanding your market, and how finding niche and beachhead markets can be used to great success.
👉 Hidden Barriers – These are the blockers that can kill a product or company that weren’t foreseen (when they should have been).
If you need help with strategy, tactics, or any kind of planning when it comes to preparing a prototype, don’t hesitate and please reach out to Cesar Keller or Ken Mocabee. We’re happy to connect and provide any guidance.

→ Way Beyond Pixels...

The power of Visual Documentation through Design SystemsIn the fast-paced world of digital product development, the importance of intuitive and visually engaging user interfaces cannot be overstated. Design assets crafted through meticulous UX/UI efforts serve as the cornerstone for successful products.

Yet, imagine the challenge of navigating this terrain without the guiding light of visual documentation or a robust design system. In a collaborative ecosystem where diverse professional disciplines converge, these assets serve as the shared language that bridges gaps, enabling seamless communication and fostering innovation.Embracing the power of visual documentation and design systems is not just a choice; it's a necessity for navigating the complex landscape of digital product development with clarity and precision.
