There’s something magical about the way life unfolds when we’re open to the nudges and whispers of our own curiosity. ✨
It’s truly amazing how synchronicity works when we say yes to things. The universe has a way of aligning experiences with perfect timing, guiding us toward what we are ready to receive.
This past summer, I created a little group called No Bummer Summer, based off of Judy Moody’s movie, a space to encourage a group of ladies to try things we normally wouldn’t, to get out, explore and say yes to life in new ways.
One of the dares on the checklist was to say YES to buying yourself the “thing”. My thing led me to Barnes & Noble to purchase an art therapy exercise book to use in my new business direction.
Normally, I would have said no to buying myself a gift, to spending money on myself, to doing something extra just for me but because it was part of the dares on the checklist and was for my business, I said yes.
Even while I was learning from and using the therapy exercises in this book, I didn’t know much about the author, Leah Guzman. I knew I loved the material but never explored the author or her world.
During this past month, as I am working on transitioning my business, a Facebook ad for an online creative retreat appeared in my feed. I signed up and was fully engaged in the retreat, connecting deeply with the experience and the energy of the community. It was such a fun experience that I decided to join the membership.
That’s when I realized Leah Guzman — the author of the book I had said yes to back in June — was guiding this community.
Looking back, all of these yeses…
the idea to create the No Bummer Summer group,
making a list of dares,
choosing that particular dare,
walking into Barnes & Noble without knowing what I would choose,
picking out Leah Guzman’s book,
saying yes to myself by buying a gift,
using that book in my therapeutic art practitioner certification,
seeing the retreat ad, signing up, joining the membership,
then attending her webinar last night,
and joining her business program,
have all unfolded in perfect synchronicity.
Each yes has built upon the next, guiding me step by step to this moment, under the guidance of a well-known author and art therapist who is providing and extending her education, her leadership and her knowledge, all in ways that will support me as I grow my business and expand my creative practice.
I feel truly blessed to have been led down this path, and I wanted to share this beautiful reminder: honor every small yes along the way. Sometimes, all it takes is one tiny yes to set everything in motion. 💫
