If you have a lot of lamps in your living room and are tired of turning them all on and off, or if you have wrist disabilities, or if you just want to have a simple and relatively inexpensive lighting solution, go over to Ikea and order yourself some Tradfri LED bulbs and the Styrbar remote battery-operated switch. Each switch can control up to 10 devices, and if you want to control an AC outlet there is a product for that as well. No rewiring needed: you just replace the bulb in your lamp (3-way lamps are supported) and pair it with the switch, and you now have control over both the brightness and color temperature of your bulbs. It takes just minutes to get this setup.
Ikea is discontinuing this line, so act quickly. There are various LED outputs –I used the 1100 lumen ones but there are dimmer bulbs. The price is quite reasonable. There are other components, including other bulb form factors and a device that can tie the lights to a phone app if that strikes your fancy.
