💭 PSA for all my birthy besties: Your business deserves more than just “book more clients” goals for the rest of 2025.
Let’s talk about the other kinds of goals—the ones that make your business actually feel good to run. Because yes, attending births is sacred work—but so is not running your entire business from the Notes app and your inbox.
So here's a short list of non-client goals to give your doula biz a glow-up before the year ends:
🎯 “Inbox at Peace” Goal
→ Create 3 canned email replies that make you sound professional and available without being on-call to your inbox. Boundaries in business start with communication—make yours easier.
🎯 “Soft Life Systems” Goal
→ Automate just one thing in your intake process so you stop chasing down paperwork like it’s a runaway birth ball. A simple form, scheduler, or client portal can save you hours (and your peace).
🎯 “Put Some Respect on My Bio” Goal
→ Update your website/IG bio to reflect how amazing you actually are (no more “just a doula”—you’re the whole ecosystem). If someone finds your page today, would they know how to work with you?
🎯 “Toolbox Upgrade” Goal
→ Learn how to use that one platform you’ve been side-eying since January (Canva, Dubsado, your CRM—you know the one). You don’t have to master it, just take the next step so it’s not collecting digital dust.
🎯 “CEO Energy” Goal
→ Block out one CEO day per month where your only job is recovery—mental, physical, emotional, and maybe even spiritual. That might mean a massage, a solo brunch, a walk in silence, or a “do not disturb” sign on your entire nervous system.
🎯 “Plug into Power” Goal
→ Join one collaborative or professional group that pours into you as much as you pour into others. I recommend the Perinatal Resource Collaborative (PRC)
for aligned advocacy and Kindred Connect if you’re ready for a system and a village built for your purpose-driven practice.
🌀 Bonus goal: Make a list of all the families you’ve served this year and take 5 mins to feel proud as hell. That’s impact. That’s legacy. That’s you.
✨ Not every goal has to be about growth. Some are about ease, joy, and finally uploading your headshot from this decade.
