🌽 Harvest the crop—not your telemetry unit!

A friendly reminder to our Avant permanent soil moisture probe customers: Before the combine comes through, remove your above-ground telemetry unit and its PVC support from the hole where it sits.

✅ Lift the above-ground assembly out and place it safely out of the way.
✅ Harvest over that spot.
✅ Once the combine has passed, put the assembly back into the same hole.

Your buried probe stays right where it is—that’s the permanent part!

While you have the above-ground unit out, it’s also a great time to replace its two D batteries to help keep your data coming through the winter. ❄️

Don’t have a permanent probe yet? Your soil’s story continues after harvest. Avant’s permanent probes provide year-round soil moisture data to help you understand what’s happening beneath the surface. The above-ground telemetry assembly is easy to remove and reinstall during harvest and planting, while the probe remains buried in place.

COLE KAHNK
Cole is our Operations Manager—the person responsible for making “We’ve got a great idea!” turn into something that actually happens. While the rest of us are dreaming up the next big thing, Cole is figuring out where it goes, how it gets there, and why nobody told him about it until this morning.

KYLEN HUNT
Kylen can look at a field and see possibilities most people drive right past. Ask him one farming question, and you’d better have a comfortable chair—because we’re going to cover soil, water, roots, and at least two things you didn’t know you needed to know. Around here, “a quick conversation with Kylen” is more of a hopeful suggestion than a measurement of time.

🌱 Agronomy Guest Speakers! 🌱

On Thursday, September 10th, our Agronomy class welcomed Kylen Hunt and Jeremy Jones from Avant Ag Tech to the Ag Room!

Kylen and Jeremy shared their knowledge and passion for soil and water management and discussed how important these resources are to our fields and agriculture. Students also had the opportunity to learn about some of the newest technology being used in the soil industry.

Agronomy class is currently beginning their lessons on soil and learning about the different horizons that make up the soil profile. We are excited to continue learning and hope to have Kylen and Jeremy back to speak with our entire FFA Chapter in the future!
