Text scams are on the rise, do not click links in texts.

This is a screenshot of a phishing scam. You can see the number is a +63, which is not a US number. It’s from the philippines and if you look at the link carefully it actually ends with a .TOP not .com. I’ve highlighted those items. Never click on a link. If it looks legitimate TYPE it into your web browser. Links can look correct but clicking it will still take you to a spoofed site. BE AWARE - there are going to be more of these scams on their way. Most of the nation’s online data has been sold on the darkweb. Tech is literal, people lie with it. Be careful and have a safe and happy celebratory season!

Atomic macOS Malware Steals Keychain Passwords and Crypto Wallets

The malware takes the form of an unsigned disk image file (Setup.dmg) that, when executed, urges the victim to enter their system password on a bogus prompt to escalate privileges and carry out its malicious activities...also bears the name "Notion-7.0.6.dmg," suggesting that it's being propagated as the popular note-taking app. Other samples unearthed by the MalwareHunterTeam have been distributed as "Photoshop CC 2023.dmg" and "Tor Browser.dmg."

I have had a client fall for this scam already. It looks like an email from the Geek Squad and this one got into her computer to "support" her - tried to charge a ton of expensive Amazon things. Luckily amazon saw the activity as suspicious and when the "tech" asked for her bank information she realized she was being scammed and shut everything down.

Don't let this happen to you. Use online remote services you know and trust. Like us! Smiley face/twinkly eye.
