There’s an old saying that goes, “A day is long, but a year is short.”
The days take forever, but the years just fly by.
While I do believe there is truth in that statement, I also believe the inverse is true: A day is short, but a year is long.
One year ago, I could barely afford to pay Aaron (my first employee) $18/hr for 24 hours a week. There were a couple weeks where I couldn’t afford for him to come to work at all.
Now I have four full-time employees that are being paid more than I’ve ever been paid in my life (including currently - I am intentionally the lowest paid person in the company), and we are still growing.
The amount of growth that has happened in a year is insane. One year ago, I would’ve never guessed that I’d have two employees, let alone four.
Back in October, Aaron asked me, “How long do you think it’ll be before we start getting gaylords worth of stuff?”
I replied, “Probably at least another year before we get one or two gaylords full.”
Lol.
Here’s to Year 2 🥂
