📺 TCAV NEWS — Labor Day Logistics Update 📦🐾

Pixie here with an important holiday shipping bulletin.

Attention, shoppers! The Post Office will be closed on Monday in observance of Labor Day, which means USPS will not be processing or moving packages that day.

Now, before anyone starts reorganizing the shipping schedule in a panic...

🏔️ Thrifty Cavern will be OPEN!

While the Post Office takes a well-deserved holiday, our team will still be hard at work behind the scenes:
📦 Orders will be processed and packaged
📋 Shipping labels will be prepared
📦 Purchases will be organized and staged for pickup
🐾 Logistics operations will continue as normal

And as for our favorite delivery specialist...

🚚 Dasher is officially on standby and ready for deployment. The moment the Post Office reopens on Tuesday, he'll be racing those packages to their next destination.

I keep reminding him that logistics is about process, not speed.

He keeps pretending not to hear me.

So if you place an order over the holiday weekend, rest assured that we'll be getting everything ready and lined up for shipment. There may be a one-day delay in carrier movement due to the holiday, but we'll have your treasures prepared and waiting to go. 💙🐾

Today, we say goodbye to Tim Curry.

Some actors play characters.

Tim Curry became them.

He was terrifying. He was hilarious. He was charming. He was bizarre. Sometimes he was all four at once.

Across the Cavern, everyone remembers a different Tim Curry. Some remember midnight viewings of The Rocky Horror Picture Show. Some remember quoting Clue until everyone in the room groaned. Some still insist his Pennywise was the only one that ever truly frightened them. Others can't see Home Alone 2 without smiling when the concierge appears on screen.

What connected all of those performances was the same thing: Tim Curry never seemed afraid to be different.

He didn't make strange characters smaller so the world would accept them.

He made them larger.

Bolder.

More memorable.

And somehow, through all the makeup, costumes, accents, villains, heroes, and wonderfully odd personalities, he reminded us that there is value in embracing exactly who you are.

At Thrifty Cavern, we celebrate collectors, dreamers, movie lovers, music fans, cosplayers, treasure hunters, and people whose interests don't always fit neatly into a box.

Tim Curry spent a lifetime reminding us that the things that make us different are often the things that make us unforgettable.

Thank you for the laughs.

Thank you for the scares.

Thank you for the music, the performances, and the wonderfully weird memories.

Rest well, Tim.

The show was always brighter when you were in it.

Today, the halls of Thrifty Cavern feel a little quieter.

Many of you visited us yesterday looking for a piece of Dolly Parton to remember her by. We are grateful that you trusted us to help you find that keepsake, and we understand why so many people felt the need to hold onto something that reminded them of her.

But if we're being honest, Dolly was never just merchandise to us.

She was a voice that brought people together.

In the Cavern, it never mattered whether someone loved country music or couldn't tell a banjo from a bass guitar. When Dolly came on the radio, the volume went up. If Steel Magnolias appeared on television, plans were canceled and it stayed on. Scout was always celebrated when he returned with Dolly treasures. Gracie could often be found wandering the passageways enthusiastically singing "9 to 5." Buckley still hasn't lived down the time Dasher caught him quietly singing "Hard Candy Christmas" to himself. And we have lost count of how many evenings ended with all of us gathered in the common room, exhausted after a long day, letting 9 to 5 play in the background until we drifted off to sleep.

Dolly was comfort.

She was joy.

She was a reminder that standing out isn't something to fear - it's something to embrace.

The world knew her for the big hair, the rhinestones, the unmistakable voice, and the larger-than-life presence. Yet somehow, all of that was only a small part of what made her extraordinary. Dolly showed us that being loud, bold, different, and unapologetically yourself could be a gift to the world. She taught self-expression, self-love, and compassion. She showed us that you can stand tall without standing over anyone else.

As a woman-owned business, her example means even more to us. Dolly proved that a woman can be powerful, successful, talented, and beautiful while remaining kind, generous, and deeply human. She showed that success never has to come at the expense of grace, generosity, or heart.

The world lost an icon.

We lost one of our comforts.

Rest well, Dolly.

Thank you for the music, the laughter, the courage, the kindness, and the example.

🐾 Hi everybody! It's me, Gracie! Your favorite Co-CEO! 🐾

This week is shaping up to be a pretty exciting one in the Cavern!

👕 August 25th is National Secondhand Wardrobe Day, which is basically one of our favorite holidays around here. After all, giving great clothes a second chance is what thrifting is all about! From everyday wear to vintage treasures, cozy flannels to special occasion outfits, you never know what amazing find is waiting to be discovered.

Speaking of secondhand fashion... have you ever noticed that humans get excited when they find a designer label for a bargain? I get excited when I find a stick that's just right. We all have our priorities. 🐶

Then on August 26th, it's National Dog Day! 🎉

Now, I may be a little biased, but I think dogs are pretty wonderful. We make excellent walking buddies, loyal friends, enthusiastic greeters, professional treat inspectors, and occasional supervisors of family businesses.

I know I'll be celebrating with extra tail wags, a nice walk with Mommy and Daddy, and maybe—just maybe—a special treat or two. (Mommy is reading this. Mommy, this is your official reminder.)

Okay, maybe a few responsibilities. Being Co-CEO of Thrifty Cavern is a very important job. Someone has to supervise Mommy, Daddy, Willa, Eugene, Circuit, and the rest of the crew!

But National Relaxation Day reminded me that sometimes it's important to slow down, kick back, and enjoy your favorite things.

Hi everybody! It's me, Gracie!

I've been doing some very important research today, and I've reached a scientific conclusion:
Happiness happens when Whataburger happens. 🐶🍔

Today is both National Happiness Happens Day and National Whataburger Day, and honestly, I can't think of a better pairing. One celebrates finding joy in everyday moments, and the other celebrates one of my favorite burger places. Coincidence? I think not!
Whether your happiness comes from a walk with family, finding the perfect treasure, listening to your favorite music, reading a good book, or enjoying a tasty burger, today is a great day to celebrate the little things that make you smile.

For me, happiness is spending time with Mommy and Daddy, meeting customers, exploring new trails, chasing squirrels I never actually catch, and, of course, staring very politely at burgers until someone shares a bite. (Daddy says that last one doesn't work. I disagree.)

🐾 Hi everybody! It’s me, Gracie, Co-CEO of Thrifty Cavern! 🐾

Whew! July has been busy around here. Between helping Mommy, supervising the Cavern Crew, and making sure Daddy doesn't accidentally break the internet, I've barely had time for extra naps!

Earlier this month, on July 7th, we celebrated National Day of Rock 'n' Roll! 🎸 If you're looking to crank up the volume, we've got plenty of rock albums, CDs, records, movies, and music treasures waiting to be discovered in the Cavern.

That same day was National Father-Daughter Take a Walk Day. ❤️ I got to spend time with my Daddy, the Cavern's CIO, exploring the trails together. Walking through the woods, sniffing all the important smells, and making sure Daddy stayed on the correct path is one of my favorite things to do!

Then on July 8th, it was Savor the Comic, Unplug the Drama Day. 😂 Around here, we're big fans of laughter, and we've got lots of comedy movies and shows available if you're looking for something fun to brighten your day.

On July 20th, we celebrated National Moon Day. Most businesses probably don't have a reason to celebrate that one, but we do! 🌙 Our wonderful Chief Operations Officer is Willa Moon, the fairy who keeps the Cavern running smoothly with a little magic and a lot of hard work. We couldn't let Moon Day pass without giving her a special shoutout!

And speaking of important members of the team, July 31st is National System Administrator Day! 💻 While Daddy spends a lot of time being my personal walking companion, he's also the person who keeps our computers running, fixes website problems, solves mysterious internet gremlins, and helps make everything at Thrifty Cavern work behind the scenes. We wouldn't be where we are today without him.

But holidays aren't the only thing keeping us busy!

🎵 And now for the news I'm most excited about...

Daddy and I have been setting up a DJ booth inside the Cavern! That's right! Soon there will be music echoing through the tunnels and treasure rooms.

Now, Daddy keeps saying things like, "Gracie, you're a dog. You can't be a DJ."

I respectfully disagree.

I have ears. I like music. I know where all the buttons are.

That sounds like a DJ to me.

So stay tuned, because I fully intend to prove Daddy wrong. 🐶🎙️

🐾🌊 Oh splashes and whiskers... I just discovered that last Thursday was Get to Know Your Customers Day! Apparently, while I was busy answering questions, tracking down treasures, and making sure Gracie wasn't "reorganizing" the office, I completely missed it.

So even if we're a week late, I'd still love to get to know all of you a little better!

🐾🎆 Happy 250th Birthday, America! 🎆🐾

Hi! It's me, Gracie! Your Favorite Co-CEO!

Today is a very big day! America is celebrating its 250th birthday, and I'm celebrating the best way I know how... by watching fireworks, wagging my tail, and spending time with the people I love most.❤️

From all of us at Thrifty Cavern, we want to wish everyone a safe, happy, and wonderful Fourth of July!

But wait! July is packed with all kinds of fun things to celebrate!

🎉 July is Anti-Boredom Month! Good news! We have plenty of ways to chase boredom right out of the Cavern. Movies, music, books, games, collectibles, clothing, and all sorts of hidden treasures are waiting to be discovered.

🍔 National Culinary Arts Month and 🔥 National Grilling Month
Whether you're the family chef, the backyard grill master, or the official taste tester (that's my department), we have kitchen goodies, cooking finds, and grilling-related treasures that might be just what you're looking for.

📬 National Postal Workers Day was July 1st.
Now, I know we're a little late...

🤦‍♀️ Because July 2nd was National I Forgot Day, and apparently somebody forgot to make the post. (I'm looking at you, Daddy.)

But I couldn't let the week go by without saying THANK YOU to all the amazing postal workers! I wait for my postal friends every single day, and without them, we couldn't send all the treasures from Thrifty Cavern out to their new homes. You help make our little family business possible, and we appreciate you more than you know! 💌🐾

🐾 Hi everybody! Gracie here, your favorite Co-CEO of Thrifty Cavern! 🐾

Whew! We've been so busy digging tunnels, sorting treasures, stocking shelves, and helping Mommy and Daddy get our new blog up and running on ThriftyCavern.com that we accidentally let a few June holidays sneak right past us.

But don't worry—I found the official explanation.

📋 We're blaming someone else.

After all, National Blame Someone Else Day was June 13th, so clearly that's why we missed all those posts. It's totally not because I occasionally distract the staff with belly rub meetings and snack inspections. Nope. Definitely someone else's fault.

While we're catching up, here's a big Cavern Crew salute to some June celebrations we missed:
