⛈️ STORM DAMAGE UPDATE

A big THANK YOU to Priority Electric and their crew for their help last night in getting our FlashFiber cable safely hung back across Highway 157. We also want to thank the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Office and its officers for providing traffic control and helping keep our crews and everyone traveling through the area safe while the work was completed.

Restoring service after an outage like this takes teamwork, and we couldn’t have gotten it done without their help.

We appreciate Priority Electric, the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Office, and everyone who worked alongside our FlashFiber and JWEMC crews to get the job done safely and get our customers reconnected.

And to our FlashFiber customers affected by the outage, thank you for your patience and understanding while crews worked through the night to restore service.

UPDATE 8:15 am
The splicing was finished quickly, and everyone in the Hwy. 157 area affected by this outage should be back up. If you are still having any issues, please give tech support a call at 256-567-4140 opt. 4, and start a ticket.

Yesterday’s storms caused significant damage across our area, including a downed fiber line across Highway 157.

Our FlashFiber crews have been working through the night to restore service. The damaged fiber has now been restrung, and crews are actively splicing the line.

🕛 Estimated restoration time: approximately 12 noon today.

DOVE SEASON IS COMING! KNOW WHAT’S BEYOND YOUR TARGET.

Every hunting season, fiber lines are damaged by gunfire—sometimes when hunters shoot at birds perched on the lines, and sometimes when they shoot at birds flying nearby.

One shot can knock out internet service for your neighbors, businesses, and community—and repairing a damaged fiber line can cost $2,000 to $30,000.

If you shoot and damage a FlashFiber line, you are responsible for the cost of restoration.

Please hunt safely and responsibly:

Never shoot at a bird sitting on a utility or fiber line.
Never shoot toward or near overhead lines.
Always know what’s beyond your target before you pull the trigger.
