I was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma, and raised in a small rural town just northeast of there. In the 8th grade, an invitation to draw t-shirt designs for a local screenprinter was my introduction into the world of design. Following that thread, in 2010, I earned a degree in graphic design from Oklahoma State University Institute of Technology afterwhich I worked for a small branding agency in Tulsa for
a time. From there I was hired on as an artist at a startup clothing brand in Southern California before relocating to Portland, Oregon, in July of 2014. There I opened up shop as Yondr Studio and met my wife before finally settling in the Seattle area. I began Yondr Studio with the aim of creating a space where craftsmanship and design can coincide. For me, this has meant setting aside digital tools of convenience, where at all possible, in exchange for those traditional tools and mediums who’s techniques and methods are hard won through years of discipline and practice. It’s this sort of perseverance and care for one’s craft that, I believe, builds character both in the artist and their work; character that is then passed on to the client in the form of a rich and meaningful product. It’s this sort of product that I strive to provide for each and every one of my clients.
