✈️ One week from now, I’ll be back in Japan, iPhone in hand and creativity fully charged.

This trip marks the start of Team Hitori GFX’s 2026 revival, where I’ll be capturing new photos, textures, and perspectives to inspire the next chapter of my Japanese-inspired art.

Can’t wait to share what’s coming. Stay tuned!

Hey everyone! I’m taking a short 休み (yasumi) — that’s Japanese for “break.” The kanji 休 is made up of a person (人) leaning against a tree (木). How cool is that?

It felt like the right time to pause, recharge, and get ready for the next Location Series drop on Saturday, August 23. It’s gonna be a fun one ⚡🎨

While you wait, you can still check out everything that’s live in the shop:

Last fall, I was lucky enough to score a ticket to the newly opened Nintendo Museum in Uji (just outside Kyoto). It was one of the highlights of my entire Japan trip!

After taking the train from Osaka, I stepped into a building filled with Nintendo nostalgia, every console they’ve ever released was there, along with the top 25 games for each system.

Upstairs had a beautiful floating-wall setup of consoles and game displays, and the basement turned into an interactive playground: shooting galleries, classic consoles to play, and even a small batting cage inspired by one of Nintendo's very first inventions.

It ended (as all good journeys do) at a gift shop packed with console-themed merch, including giant plush controllers I really wanted to bring home.

This one absolutely earned its place in my Location Series. You can grab the design here:

🚨 New drop! My Nintendo Museum (Kyoto) design is finally live! 🎉

Part of my Location Series, this piece is a love letter to Nintendo’s legendary new museum in Uji, just outside Kyoto.

If you’ve ever blown into a cartridge, raced Rainbow Road, or swung a virtual sword—this one’s for you.

After spending my morning in Odaiba with the Unicorn Gundam and walking off lunch in Ginza, I headed to one of my personal dream spots: the Tokyo Dome in Bunkyo.

Even though there wasn’t an event going on, the area around the dome was buzzing. The NJPW fan in me couldn’t help but feel a little starstruck just standing outside the venue where Wrestle Kingdom happens each year.

This memory inspired my latest piece in the Location Series—check it out now at teamhitorigfx.com.

Taking a quick pause this weekend (no new drop today) but I’ll be back next weekend with the next Location Series piece: Tokyo Dome in Bunkyo!

I’m working to capture the energy of Japan’s baseball mecca in this design, and I’m excited to share it with you soon. Thanks for sticking around, and I can’t wait to show you what’s next!

Two of my favorite places in Japan, two totally different vibes, and now two new designs in my shop.

🚋 The Yamanote Line is my favorite train in Tokyo, hands down. Want to hop from Akihabara to Shinjuku or get from Ikebukuro to Shinagawa? This lime green wonder has your back. You could even ride it in a full circle, soaking in Tokyo 360 degrees.

🗼 Tsutenkaku Tower in Osaka isn’t as tall as Skytree or as flashy as Tokyo Tower, but it has a down-to-earth charm that fits Osaka perfectly. The grounds below feel like a mini South Dotonbori, with takoyaki stalls and random shops that make you feel like you’re in the real Osaka.

I turned both into new designs for Team Hitori GFX to celebrate the everyday magic of Japan.

Last November, I visited Tower Records Shibuya, a spot that truly lives up to its “No Music. No Life.” banner. Multiple floors filled with everything from J-Pop and K-Pop to anime songs and Western artists, it’s a paradise for music lovers and casual listeners alike. I ended up getting my first vinyl record: Muse’s “Absolution.” Thinking about grabbing a Muse vinyl every Japan trip until I complete the collection. 🎶💛

This visit inspired me to turn the iconic entrance pillar into a piece for my Monochrome Series, now available in my shop:
