Dolly Parton’s passing at 80 is prompting an outpouring of tributes from across the music world. Few are as heartfelt and powerful as this reflection from Country Music Hall of Fame CEO Kyle Young.
“She came from poverty to become the most important native of Tennessee,” Young wrote on the Country Music Hall of Fame’s social media pages. He also praised Dolly’s generosity and extraordinary artistry, saying she shared her fortune for the benefit of others and “shared her soul in every note she sang.”
Dolly was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame in 1999, forever cementing her legacy as one of country music’s most influential icons.
