Too many government and private industry systems are being hacked or infected. Why? The same issues remain over the years; patching and updates are still not being implemented in a timely manner when a Vendor warns of vulnerabilities in their operating system software. Maybe implementing centralized patching systems, getting rid of legacy systems and upgrading them to systems that can be patched, creating a culture that‘s not afraid of making decisions and mistakes. Systems can be rebuilt. Just keep them backed up. If we want to keep the lights on, the AC running, food production, banking, etc. operating smoothly we must invoke critical thinking skills, develop centralized solutions, share knowledge, information, and utilize all of our resources (personnel) so we can survive whatever adversaries bring to US networks. That’s my 2 cents.
