Navteca's thought leadership and immersive data visualization work for geospatial and scientific datasets have been featured by the UNDRRUnited Nations Office for Disaster Risk Reduction (UNDRR) on PreventionWeb, the knowledge sharing platform for disaster risk reduction; ‘Using emerging game technology for disaster risk reduction: A pilot study in Guatemala City’ outlines our collaboration with the NASA - National Aeronautics and Space Administration Disasters Program, CEPREDENAC, Municipalidad de Guatemala, SALVETERRA, the UNDRR, and other stakeholders. This exciting project came together during the pandemic as our teams met virtually every week to envision a better way to interpret the multi-hazard risk assessment that had been done for la Ciudad de Guatemala. Our team provided immersive, 360 visualizations that helped Guatemala City and regional partners better understand that risk and they were even used in the emergency operations center as part of their regional earthquake simulation drill.
