I shouldn’t be allowed to use photoshop

I’m finding that I like using photoshop as a tool for juxtaposed art. I enjoy creating a new narrative by using old pieces of art and adding a digital and modern element to it. Results are usually strange and somewhat questionable, but eh, I’m bored with everyone being so serious all the time. So enjoy something not so serious.

Happy Valentines Day Lovers! I wanted to start this Friday off by talking about one of the many ways you can help support sustainability. Holidays are notorious for producing massive amounts of waste and this is just as true for Valentine’s Day as it is for any other Holiday.

Instead of asking for cut flowers ask for a living plant from your local nursery instead. In the US alone, more than 4 billion roses are imported and are often treated with pesticides and packaged with tough-to-recycle materials like cellophane.

Have the conversation with your S.O. and help save the planet by buying a plant.

This photo, by far, was the most challenging one I have done! There was a lot of detail and I wanted to make the subjects the main focus without taking to much away from the original photo. So to do that, and to save time, I had do some creative problem solving and definitely found the perfect solution. I wanted to create the movement you see in the background, but simplify it.
This was an anniversary gift for two of my closest friends and I mean come one, aren’t they literally the cutest 🥰
As always feel free to message me for any inquiries!

Original Sketch - Pen and Markers

One of my creative goals this year was to start drawing more consistently. I think since starting the digital drawings I’ve improved my hand drawings in the process. More sketches to come!!

One of my most memorable experiences was visiting the Lorraine Motel in Memphis, Tennessee. I have never left an experience speechless, but that day I felt that there was nothing I could say as my heart felt so heavy. Today as we honor Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., I wanted to reflect on this experience and focus on how the Civil Rights Movement influenced our modern day art, music, and culture how it is still influencing you g artists today.
