Did you know that clicking "Shut Down" on a modern Windows PC doesn't actually turn it off completely?
Thanks to a feature called Fast Startup, Windows saves the state of your OS kernel to the disk to make booting up faster the next time. While that sounds great, it also means your computer is carrying over tiny errors, cached junk, and "digital fatigue" from days or weeks ago.
The Fix: The Weekly Restart Rule 🔄
If your computer feels sluggish, your Wi-Fi is acting up, or apps are crashing, do this:
Go to the Start Menu.
Click Power.
Select RESTART (not Shut Down).
Why it works: A formal Restart is the only way to fully "kill" every running process and clear the system cache. It’s like giving your brain a full night’s sleep instead of just a 10-minute power nap.
Pro-Tip: Want to see how long your PC has really been awake?
Right-click your Taskbar > Task Manager * Click the Performance tab
Look at "Up time" If that number says 5, 10, or 30 days... it's time for a reboot!
