Is your law firm still outsourcing Remote Online Notarization (RON)? 🛑

If you already have a notary on staff, you don't need a third-party platform. Texas law requires specific capabilities—like live 2-way video and tamper-evident digital seals—not a specific vendor.

Bringing RON in-house lets you:
🔒 Keep sensitive client matters 100% confidential

📂 Control your own compliance and 10-year record retention

⚙️ Use software you already own (Zoom, Teams, etc.)

With Texas SB 693 raising the legal stakes around "personal appearance" rules (especially for real estate), controlling the video and identity check in-house turns compliance into a major safeguard for your firm.

The 4-Step Action Plan:
1️⃣ Commission your staff: Get their online notary commission & X.509 digital seal.
2️⃣ Configure video: Use your existing video tools to record the signing (capturing the act, not confidential document pages).
3️⃣ Verify identity: Use personal knowledge, a credible witness, or a simple ID-proofing plug-in.
4️⃣ Test & Roll Out: Run a dry run, document the workflow, and go live!

Take control of your firm’s process—no extra platform fees required.

Frustrated by the "Professional Email" requirement? 😫

Most ID + KBA platforms block you if you don't have a custom domain. If you’re a notary still using Gmail, Outlook, or Yahoo, I have a major "hack" for you.

I spoke with the CEO of Authenticate, and they’ve provided a special backdoor link specifically to let notaries register with their personal emails.

Skip the "work email" headache and get started here:

Here’s why these are my go-to loan signing platforms 👇🏽

Snapdocs – Clean system, consistent opportunities, and widely used by title companies. It keeps you in the mix.

Signing Order – Great for building momentum when you’re newer and want to get experience under your belt.

NotaryDash – User friendly, modern interface, and solid communication. I like efficiency and they deliver.

Signature Closers – Professional, organized, and dependable. That matters when you’re building long term relationships.

ServiceLink – Established name in the industry. When you position yourself well, this one can open doors.

Now let me be clear.

Signing up is step one.

Knowing how to position yourself so you actually get picked is step two. That’s where most notaries drop the ball.

Try these out. Get your profiles optimized. Show up professionally. Then watch what happens.

Follow for more tips on notary business success.

And if you’re serious about doing this the right way from day one, comment LAUNCH to enroll in our Notary Launch Lab where I walk you step by step through launching your notary business the smart way, not the stressful way.

2026 Update for Texas Notaries!

So, we’ve all been waiting for the new mandatory education requirement for notaries in Texas, and I just finished it and passed the assessment on my first try!

The traditional notary section has four videos that add up to about 45 minutes. The quiz has 20 questions, and you get 30 minutes to answer them. You need to score at least 70% to pass, but the questions are pretty straightforward—just make sure to actually watch the videos instead of just letting them play in the background.

The online section is shorter, with only two videos that take less than 20 minutes to watch. Each section costs $20 plus a fee.

Honestly, it was a piece of cake!
