I sit quietly in the dark, thinking about everything, unable to turn off my thoughts, no matter how hard I try.
Memories of us and the good times run through my mind before..the bad stuff shows up too.
I never thought something as beautiful as us would ever turn out so ugly..
But we don’t really ever know where we will end up, only that we will be where we are supposed to be..
And right now, I’m trying to find those reasons why we’re here.
Worlds apart emotionally, we don’t see eye to eye and the words just don’t flow between us anymore.
I can’t say that I know what to do now, because I’m at a crossroads.
My mind keeps telling me to go but my heart refuses to give up on our love.
But I’ve given you so many chances, tried so many times that I’m just utterly spent.
We always come back to the same place and I know that deep down, we both know it’s time to go..
So that’s what I’m doing.
No more trying again, not going to give this another chance.
I’m done, but I can’t say I know how to move on.
It’s been so long since I’ve had to make my own way, it’s a little scary to face my journey alone..
But I need to.
I have to.
It’s past time for me to learn to love myself again and find that person I was before..
Before the pain, the fights and the promises of a future together- all of which just left me empty inside.
So, maybe I don’t know where to go next or where to start..
But I do know I can begin by not going back, not giving this another try.
I owe that much to myself.
In fact, I owe myself everything, so that’s what I’m going to start to look for..
Opportunity in the pain, because ending is a new beginning.
And this time,
I’m going to love myself and my life just the way I should have long ago.
