What is VoIP and why do I keep hearing about it?
VoIP (Voice over Internet Protocol) is the technology that converts your voice into a digital signal, allowing you to make a call directly from a computer, a VoIP phone, or other data-driven devices. Simply put, it’s a phone service delivered over the internet rather than a traditional telephone line.
Over the last few years you would have started hearing about VoIP more and more. This is because BT are starting to shut down the ISDN networks (The old telephone systems) BT plan to do this by 2025 so businesses have been moving their traditional systems to VoIP in preparation.
