6/12/26 - New fire reported northeast of Shelton along WA-3 this afternoon. The “Agate Fire” is 0.25 acres with unknown containment. Fire conditions will remain elevated through Wednesday across Western Washington, so take extra precautions if you’re outdoors. High temps + low humidity + a breeze = fire weather.

6/12/26 - This one's for our viewers in Southwest Washington and Northwest Oregon. Anyone in the Portland metro area has a high likelihood of experiencing temperatures in the mid-90s to low-100s Sunday through Tuesday. If you're anywhere else highlighted in orange, your high temperatures will range from the low to mid-90s inland/mid to upper-80s along the coast. While not up to par with the desert, this is still much warmer than average this time of the year. This message mainly correlates with those susceptible to heat illnesses or heat stroke. Please keep comments civil and related to weather!

6/12/26 - Western Washington is still on track to see its two warmest days of the year (so far) on Sunday and Monday. The southwest interior between Grays Harbor and Olympia could see isolated 100s both days, which constitutes a "major" heat risk for sensitive groups. Otherwise, the warmest areas are likely to be south and west of Seattle away from the water. Low temperatures will likely have a difficult time dropping below 60. Today would be a great day to break out those air conditioners, or identify your nearest cooling center. It doesn't sound like much to the desert transplants, but for some of us here in Washington, this could be a bigger deal. Let's keep the comment section civil please!

6/11/26 - The first heat advisory of the season goes into effect at 11 AM Sunday. This covers all of Western Washington in exception of the mountains, coast, and western Strait of Juan de Fuca regions. This alert will expire at 5 AM Tuesday morning. Temps around the region could reach 85 degrees (Island & San Juan counties) to 90 degrees away from water. Please exercise extreme caution if you’re susceptible to heat illness!

FYI, please no comments similar to “this isn’t hot” or “you call this heat?” This is much more serious for select groups of people, especially those without air conditioning. Thank you for understanding!

6/11/26 - An important stat for this upcoming Monday from US National Weather Service Seattle Washington:

“Forecast high for Seattle Monday is 91 degrees. 90 degree plus days are not unheard of this time of year but are rare. Only 7 percent (19 out of 276) of the 90 degree plus days at Seattle-Tacoma airport have occurred in May and the first half of June. Last year Seattle also had an early first 90 degree plus day with 90 degrees on June 8th.”

Monday is likely to break daily temperature records all around Western Washington!

Remember the post I shared on Saturday (6/6/26) about a possible tornado down in Battle Ground? The storm survey team with US National Weather Service Portland Oregon concluded that a narrow swath of damaging straight-line winds up to 93 MPH occurred between 3:06 PM and 3:12 PM that day. The damage was deemed non-tornadic. Credit to Tyler Mode of Battle Ground Weather for the deets!
