Subaru Forester XT – EJ20 Dual AVCS Engine Swap 🔧🔥

This Forester XT came in for a complete engine replacement, and we opted for a dual AVCS EJ20 to give it a fresh, reliable heart. Every step was handled with precision to ensure performance and longevity.

Previous EJ25 Engine:The original EJ25 was tired — low compression across cylinders meant almost no power and constant struggle to build boost. It was clear this motor had reached the end of its life.

Now, with the EJ20 installed, compression is back where it should be, and boost response has returned — restoring the Forester’s performance.

Build Highlights:

Exhaust AVCS deleted and solid cam pulleys installed

New intake gaskets

New valve cover gaskets

New cam seals

New rear main seal

New spark plugs

New air filter

Engine flushed

New oil & oil filter

Power steering pipe repaired with new hose

New power steering fluid

All new clamps on water and breather pipes

Breather pipes replaced

New fan belt

Cracked exhaust headers replaced with a solid set

Original uppipe (with cat & EGT sensor) replaced with STI uppipe

ECU software updated: fueling corrected and EGT disabled

Result:This Forester XT now runs stronger, cleaner, and sharper — the EJ20 Dual AVCS paired with the STI uppipe delivers a responsive drive while ensuring long‑term reliability. Compression and boost are back, giving this Subaru the punch it was missing.

Infiniti 3.0d V6 (V9X) – Custom Intercooler & Full Service

This powerhouse came in with a damaged stock intercooler and a long OEM wait time. We made it happen:
- Aftermarket aluminium intercooler installed
- Plate welded & drilled for boost sensor
- Mounting brackets welded, tapped & custom-fitted to vehicle
- New front brake pads fitted
- Full service with premium synthetic oil
- Stripped sump plug replaced with OEM new
- Stripped oil filler cap replaced with OEM new
- Fresh antifreeze added

Subaru WRX Narrow Body – EJ20X Engine Swap 🔧🔥

This Subaru Impreza WRX narrow body came in for a full engine replacement. The original EJ25 had suffered extensive damage, so the customer opted for a dual AVCS EJ20X import motor — a solid upgrade for reliability and performance.

Build Highlights:
- Exhaust AVCS delete kit installed — cam oil ports drilled, tapped, and blocked.
- Solid cam pulleys fitted for durability.
- Original EJ25 intake manifold retained, paired with EJ25 exhaust manifold and VF52 turbo for strong midrange boost.
- Fresh seals and gaskets throughout:
- New cam seals
- New valve cover gaskets
- All new exhaust gaskets
- New intake gaskets
- Replacement cambelt kit in good condition.
- New consumables: spark plugs, air filter, oil filter, oil, and antifreeze.
- ECU map adjusted for the new setup.
- Secondary air pump delete completed for cleaner operation.

Result:
This WRX now runs with a refreshed heart — the EJ20X paired with the VF52 turbo delivers a sharper, more responsive drive while maintaining reliability. Every detail from seals to filters was addressed to ensure longevity and performance.

Subaru WRX Hatchback – Maintenance Session Complete!

This beast came in for some TLC and left sharper than ever:
- ✅ New cambelt kit installed
- ✅ Fresh water pump fitted
- ✅ Cam seals replaced

- ✅ Indicator globe swapped out
- ✅ Xenon headlight globe upgraded

Subaru Forester 2.5X – Full Headgasket & Top-End Overhaul

This Forester came in for a headgasket replacement, and we carried out a comprehensive top-end refresh using OEM components only to ensure factory reliability and performance.

Work completed:
- New OEM head gaskets installed with proper torque sequence and specs
- Intake, exhaust, and valve cover gaskets replaced
- Fresh oil and OEM oil filter fitted
- New air filter for clean airflow
- Complete cambelt kit installed, including new water pump
- Top and bottom radiator hoses replaced for cooling system integrity
- Cylinder heads fully reconditioned: skimmed, valve stem seals replaced, valves lapped for proper sealing

This wasn’t just a gasket swap – it was a full preventative service to eliminate weak points and extend engine life. By refreshing the cooling system, timing components, and top-end, this EJ25 is now set for reliable operation under load.

Subaru Forester XS – Engine Rebuild Journey

This Forester came back to us after we did head gaskets last year. Unfortunately, the car ran bearings this time around, and given its history of overheating, we decided the best route was a complete new short block.

Here’s what went into the rebuild:
- Genuine Subaru short block sub-assembly
- New OEM oil pump
- New OEM head gaskets
- All OEM gaskets and seals replaced
- Fresh oil, spark plugs, oil filter, and air filter

We also tackled issues with the rocker shaft springs. To sort this out, we sourced replacement heads and used parts from those to repair the original heads.

The result? A refreshed, reliable engine built with OEM quality parts, ready to keep this Forester on the road for many more kilometers.
