Madiba once said, "It always seems impossible until it's done." Covering 400km over 8 days definitely sounded impossible, but watching these athletes conquer the road proves what purpose and unity can do.

The Icons Journey Marathon is proud to host the very first Marathon, a historic milestone that marks the beginning of a new legacy.

This is more than 42.2km. It’s a journey of courage, resilience, and purpose. A race where every step inspires change and every finish line tells a story.

Day 3 Recap of The Icon's Journey Marathon 👏👏

🧡 While we caught our breath, our didn't: four days and counting into the 400km Iconic Challenge. Here's what we didn't want you to miss. The route these Icons are running follows South Africa's Liberation and Heritage Route, through some of the very towns and villages where Ilitha is laying fibre to bring affordable internet home. History connected this road once. We're making sure connectivity does too. 🛣️📶

A 400km journey is heavy on the legs, so we're making sure the water stations are locked and loaded to keep our 12 Icons moving strong.

Catching up with the runners during these quick breaks is the best part of being on the road. The energy out here is unmatched! 🧡

The legs may be feeling yesterday’s 42.2km effort, but the spirit of our 12 Icons remains unshaken as they head from Seymour to Waterdown Dam today.

What a powerful start to the 400km challenge! Today the Icons ran from Alice to Beaufort (42.2km) and you know Team Ilitha had to jump in and match their steps on the road. 🧡

The energy was so electric that our Ilitha team couldn't just watch from the sidelines, we laced up and ran right alongside them! There is nothing like sharing the road, the sweat, and the purpose with these incredible athletes.

One marathon down, seven to go. The journey to Mthatha has truly begun! ✨🏃🏾‍♂️🏃🏾‍♀️👏🏽
