Β· Oversee and manage all crop-production activities on the farm
Β· Develop seasonal and annual crop-production plans
Β· Lead commercial potato production from land preparation through to harvesting and storage
Β· Manage production of potatoes, maize, soya beans, wheat, vegetables, and other commercially viable crops
Β· Plan and supervise land preparation, planting, irrigation, fertilisation, spraying, weeding, and harvesting
Β· Monitor crops for pests, diseases, weeds, and nutritional deficiencies
Β· Manage fertiliser, seed, chemical, and other agricultural inputs
Β· Maintain accurate crop-production, input, labour, yield, and financial records
Β· Supervise farm workers and seasonal labour
Β· Monitor crop yields and implement strategies to improve productivity and profitability
Β· Manage irrigation and water usage where applicable
Β· Prepare crop budgets and monitor production costs
Β· Ensure proper harvesting, grading, storage, and post-harvest handling of produce
Β· Coordinate the use and maintenance of farm machinery and equipment

Β· Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Agronomy, Crop Science, Agricultural Science, Plant Science, or a related field
Β· Minimum 5 years of practical commercial crop-farming experience
Β· Strong and demonstrable experience in commercial potato farming is essential
Β· Strong knowledge of potato production, including seed selection, planting, fertilisation, irrigation, pest and disease management, harvesting, and storage
Β· Experience managing crops other than potatoes
Β· Strong knowledge of soil management, crop nutrition, and crop rotation
Β· Experience managing farm labour and agricultural operations
Β· Strong leadership, planning, and reporting skills
Β· Ability to work independently in a remote rural environment
