Purpose of role
Understand functional features of our current VB 6 ERP
application and develop the front end data entry screens and
reports to run on Safari, Edge, Chrome, Firefox and Mozilla.
Deliver code segments that meet the specified development
standards and functional requirements. On-going task thereafter
will be to develop new features of the company’s International
Commodity Trading ERP application
Duties
• Understand the functional requirements of the Application by
reviewing the existing VB Application
• Interact with the outsourced Applications Architects to
understand the functional design
• Development the application in line with the productivity
standards of the company
• Review development feasibility and offer feedback
• Build application components based on the designs provided
• QA & Testing of components developed by self and other
developers also
• Follow Release Management and Audit practices of the
company
• Document the components developed by self
• Participate in Code Review and QA Review
• Create the basic User Manual for the components developed
by self
• Follow software development procedures and standards of the
company
Essential Skills
• Developing applications in Javascript - Sencha Ext JS /
Angular / React
• Excellent logical and optimal algorithm definition and
debugging skills
• Excellent communication skills with a good command over
the English Language
Desirable Skills
• Knowledge of business domains like Finance, Production
Planning, Inventory, Food Processing, Manufacturing, etc.
Inter-personal skills
• Team player with the ability to communicate with fellow team
members
Background
• This is a product company. The processes followed are very
different from processes followed by project companies. The
team size is small and high caliber. Candidates must have the
ability to adapt to changing technologies and absorb domain
knowledge quickly to become subject matter experts in
Commodity Trading and Analytics, creating the ability to
provide customers a consultative approach to problem solving
during implementation and product support
