Open Source Afghanistan Open Source Afghanistan (OSA) is the country's FOSS User Group. Objectives of Open Source Afghanistan are to:
1. Create awareness on FOSS in Afghanistan;

Open Source Afghanistan is an association of people, companies, NGOs, schools and universities that are coming together by their interest in Linux and Free/Open Source Software (FOSS). It brings together Open Source users and developers who realize the need for a common platform to come together share knowledge and experience, create awareness, train, advocate and provide expert advice and technic

al assistance to the different public and private institutions on FOSS. Build local knowledge and know-how in FOSS;
3. Provide technical and advisory assistance to individuals and organizations
4. Facilitate and support research and assessments in the area;
5. Assist in developing localized content, tools and applications;
6. Advocate for policy reforms
7. Work with the international organizations and FOSS community to foster technology transfer which supports the wide use of FOSS in Afghanistan

Open Source Afghanistan is creating a nation-wide awareness and sharing information and knowledge through electronic and print publications, organizing series of meetings and events, and its mailing lists and online forums.
