⚡ What to do when the client doesn’t like your design and how to avoid it?
———
1⃣ Check yourself. Before you start arguing or protecting your design, check if they are right, you are only human and maybe you just got it wrong.
—
2⃣ Start by asking ‘Why’ and ‘How’?
You are a professional at your job, so don't be afraid to answer all their questions.
—
3⃣ Provide real reasons why your design solves their problem and they should be focused on problem-solving too.
—
4⃣ Welcome their feedback and confront it with your feedback, show them they are WRONG.
—
5⃣ Expect changes. They have their reasons, so expect minds to change, including yours, you learn by doing, you learn by making mistakes, you learn with every passing client, its what makes you better after all.
—
6⃣ Your client is not the user. Show them how they are only one person and you are designing for more than that, show them that you are the designer and you know the user better.
—
7⃣ Give it your last shot, if your client wants UGLY, do it, remember: The first time you design for esthetics and business, the second one is just business.
—
8⃣ Maybe its time to let it go.
There is no bad thing about saying NO if you say YES every time it means you are not the designer, your client is and you don't want your client to think like that.
———
🤔 How to avoid it?
1⃣ Don't just directly into the descameign, do your research, let the client review it, do the wireframes and inform that client that there is no going back once agreeing on them, then do the UI.
—
2⃣ Don’t fall for too many revisions thing, show your client that you will be working on the solution to the problem.
—
3⃣ Manage to always get paid. Follow the 50/25/25 rule, 50% upfront, 25% halfway, 25% before you deliver the design.
