At Illustration Day in Vienna, Maria .mk and Andreas shared insights on combining illustration and animation - from briefing to final animation.

Our goal was to inspire creatives to explore new collaborations! Hope we encouraged some illustrators to take the leap into animation.

We were off to a good start with our in April. Focusing on quick gesture drawings and hands was fun. Towards the end of the month the routine got a bit lost though to be honest. Anyways, entering May we'll hopefully pick up the drawing warm up practice again. ✏️

So we tried Sarah Beth Morgan's new class on Skillshare "Playing with shapes in Procreate" and this is the result. It was fun and a good opportunity to really focus on the overall composition and shapes. Definitely recommended. :)

We've already entered April. High time to show what March's routine was all about. Last month we thought it was time to practice less organic shapes and concentrate on straight lines instead. So we ended up with a compilation of handy devices. For this month we won't continue with devices though... 🤓 Anyone else out there who is trying to stick to a (drawing) routine?
