✨ We are SO excited to share that our seven LCI students have officially arrived in Gaming for a truly life-changing semester! ✨
They’ve only been there a short time, and already they are growing in faith, soaking in the beauty of the foot-alps, and walking in the footsteps of centuries of faithful prayer. 🙏

Here are a few of their reflections from their first week:

“When I first arrived at the Kartause, two things stood out to me. I had never seen so many Americans in one place in Europe before, and I was struck by the beauty of the Kartause and the Alps. It is such an honor to live in a place with so much history.

Going to Mass and praying where Carthusian monks lived for centuries really gives you the sense of being part of something greater—continuing a sacred tradition of prayer that has been alive for so long.”

“The Kartause Gaming is amazing! Ever since I first heard about Franciscan University, I dreamed of studying here, so this experience feels like a prayer answered. Everyone I’ve met is so faithful and welcoming. I’ve already joined the Holy Mass choir ministry to serve the Lord with my voice, and even in the first week, the classes and activities have already been so impactful.

We also visited Vienna, and I completely fell in love with the city and its history. I can’t wait to see how this semester will help me grow closer to God and become a holier person.”

Today’s feast day gives us HOPE! Today is one for those who may be struggling with a problem that may seem hopeless or impossible! Saint Rita Cascia, patron of the impossible celebrates her beautiful feast today and echos Our Lady’s beautiful exhortation “Nothing is Impossible for God” May she be a reminder to you today of Gods faithfulness even in situations that may seem hopeless or impossible! Happy Feast of the Annunciation!
Please open your hearts to our LCI friends in Romania who have given their lives to serve Christ in others!
Today would have been mission immersion day for all students at the Kartause heading out for mission on their 10-day break.
If you ever went on mission in Romania, join us in this endeavor.

The LCI Romania mission appeal includes three projects: Fr. Remus' Children's Home in Turt, Claudia and the Sacred Heart Foundation's Youth Center Building and Fr. Calin and Christina's Love & Truth Center, the pastoral center in Cluj.

Father Jim Crisman
Among his many accomplishments and awards, certainly one of the greatest is Fr. Jim's legendary success at teaching English and catechetics at LCI in Gaming, in Slovakia, and in Hungary.

A priest now for 20 years, he is Pastor of St. Francis of Assisi Parish near Denver, Colorado.


Rev. Dr. Yosyp Veresh
Rev. Dr. Yosyp, also known as Fr. Joseph or Fr. Josef, is a priest of the Greek-Catholic Eparchy of Mukachevo and theology professor in Gaming.

He is an expert in mystical theology of the Christian East, and a gifted preacher and teacher.

Sr. Anna Hartl
Sr. Anna Hartl is a sister of the Juengersuche Community in Vienna. She is actively serves her parish and community and, as the name of her Community indicates, she seeks disciples for Christ.

She was an LCI student in Spring 2020.
