Parking is better when drivers barely have to think about it.

No ticket to pull.
No ticket to lose.
No unnecessary stop at the exit.

With license plate recognition (LPR), drivers can simply enter, park and choose how they want to pay – at the machine, digitally or, depending on the setup, later.

That makes a difference for operators too.

Fewer ticket-related issues. Less equipment at entry and exit. And more flexibility when a parking site changes or grows.

For smaller sites, that can be particularly interesting: start with what you actually need, then add further payment options, cameras or other services when they make sense.

The point isn’t to add more technology to parking.

It’s to make parking feel simpler for the driver and easier to run for the operator.

That’s where ticketless and barrierless parking gets interesting.

Your next lease renewal may already be taking shape in the car park.

A driver passing the same full row for the third time, while the sign still promises spaces available. A parking validation that fails at the till. A queue at the exit on the busiest Saturday of the year.

Shoppers feel it.
Tenants feel it.
Landlords eventually do too.

None of it stops at the barrier. It becomes work inside the shop, where staff explain parking rules and reissue discounts that should have worked on their own.

It runs the other way just as well: guidance that holds up on peak days, benefits that apply without a redemption step, and reporting that shows when the property is under pressure, which tenant-funded benefits get redeemed, and where the same friction keeps coming back.

Parking alone rarely decides a renewal. It just keeps showing up in the evidence.

The Lease Renewal Starts in the Car Park.

Parking systems do not get weekends off. Neither does great service.

Best in Parking Italia operates more than 30 parking facilities across 20+ Italian cities, with capacity for around 12,500 vehicles.

At this scale, system availability is essential for residents, commuters, visitors, and parking teams.

That is why Best in Parking Italia relies on SKIDATA as a long-term service partner.

Across Italy, our service teams provide:

• SLA-based priority support
• Assistance on weekends and holidays
• Advanced hardware and software troubleshooting
• Proactive replacement of critical infrastructure
• Regular http://Parking.Logic updates
• Support for payments, reservations, reporting, and connected services

The goal is simple: prevent interruptions, respond quickly, and protect daily operations across every location.
But service quality is not defined by a contract alone.

It comes from people who understand the urgency of an incident, take responsibility, and stay close to the customer as operational needs change.

For Stefano Servadei at Best in Parking Italia, the availability, professionalism, and flexibility of the SKIDATA Italy team provide confidence that the entire parking network is well supported.

Technology may start a partnership.
Reliable service is what makes it last.

More than 99.7% smooth ticket processing at the major international football tournament in Atlanta and Toronto. ⚽

The tournament showed what access technology must deliver at a major event: speed, stability, and reliable performance, even with very high visitor numbers.

According to FIFA, 258,088 fans attended six matches in Toronto. In Atlanta, more than 500,000 fans attended eight matches.

Supporting the event on site for SKIDATA:

• 2 technicians from our US team
• 1 project manager from HQ
• 1 technician from HQ

Behind these numbers were careful preparation, fast coordination, and a highly motivated team taking responsibility on site - especially when every second mattered.

This is how SKIDATA supports major events: with reliable technology and people who understand what matters on matchday.

Planning your next major matchday?

Temporary event. Smooth parking from the first arrival to the final exit.

For event organizers, venue teams and stadium managers, parking has to work before the gates open and long after the crowd has left.

SKIDATA’s digital parking management for temporary events keeps the process simple and mobile:

• Receive and manage parking requests
• Approve requests centrally
• Create and send digital parking passes
• Validate access on site with handheld devices
• Track usage and prepare reports

This means less paper, fewer manual checks and faster access for guests, staff and partners.

The system can connect with SKIDATA accreditation solution, NFC and e-ticketing, event apps and parking hardware. Parking stays aligned with the rest of the venue operation.

Planning a temporary event? Talk to SKIDATA early and make parking part of the plan from day one.

The right parking payment terminal for the right site.

Not every parking facility needs the same setup.

For smaller parking locations, space-limited sites, or operations with a clear focus on cashless payment, the solution should stay simple and practical.

That is where SKIDATA's skiosk® Lean fits.

It gives parking operators and facility managers the essentials they need:

- Card and contactless payments
- License plate entry or optional ticket scanning
- Digital receipts, with an optional printer
- Wall-mounted or free-standing installation
- Indoor and outdoor use
- Remote configuration, monitoring, and software updates via SKIDATA Connect

The result: a payment point that is easy for drivers to use and easier for teams to manage - with no cash to collect or reconcile and no local server to maintain.

Choosing the right terminal starts with understanding the site.

20/07/2026

A cyber incident does not stay in the server room. It can reach the parking gate.

Today’s parking systems connect access devices, payment terminals, license plate recognition, local servers, cloud services, apps, and third-party platforms.

A single weak point can affect uptime, revenue, data, and customer trust.

Parking operators and IT teams must address cybersecurity throughout the system lifecycle:

• Design: Set clear access boundaries and secure connections
• Build: Use secure coding, testing, and threat modeling
• Operate: Monitor systems, install updates, manage vulnerabilities, and respond to incidents

The right parking management setup may be hybrid, cloud-based, or different across sites. Essential local processes must remain reliable, while connected services and operational data stay protected.

Independent assurance also matters.

SKIDATA backs its security and management practices with:

• ISO 27001 for information security management
• ISAE 3402 for independently audited controls covering data hosting and processing

Technical security controls remain essential. These certifications give operators, IT teams, procurement specialists, and auditors documented evidence of established processes, responsibilities, and controls.

Our latest blog describes how SKIDATA approaches cybersecurity in modern parking management.

What is that?
What can it do?
Why is it dressed like that?
And why is SKIDATA grinning?

Questions you'd ask if this just flew past you on a mountain trail.

We understand.
We won't answer any of them - not yet.

One promise: soon to be released into the wild

68,239 fans. One semifinal. Every entry matters. ⚽

England vs Argentina at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta will be one of the standout matchdays of the 2026 football calendar.

For the tournament setup, the venue is configured for 68,239 spectators. In regular operation, it welcomes more than 71,000 fans.

SKIDATA supports the venue as a Solution Provider. The preparation started in 2025, during six major international club matches with up to 66,000 fans per game.

The access setup included:

• 96 Flex.Gates and 15 handheld devices
• Apple and Google NFC, RFID, static barcodes, and rotating barcodes
• A dedicated event database
• Coordinated support, security, and contingency processes

This gave the local team tested procedures for high-attendance events, real-time ticket validation across multiple formats, and close coordination between Atlanta, SKIDATA USA, HQ, and event partners.

Great matchdays are always a team effort. Thank you to everyone working on site and behind the scenes.
