Parking is better when drivers barely have to think about it.
No ticket to pull.
No ticket to lose.
No unnecessary stop at the exit.
With license plate recognition (LPR), drivers can simply enter, park and choose how they want to pay – at the machine, digitally or, depending on the setup, later.
That makes a difference for operators too.
Fewer ticket-related issues. Less equipment at entry and exit. And more flexibility when a parking site changes or grows.
For smaller sites, that can be particularly interesting: start with what you actually need, then add further payment options, cameras or other services when they make sense.
The point isn’t to add more technology to parking.
It’s to make parking feel simpler for the driver and easier to run for the operator.
That’s where ticketless and barrierless parking gets interesting.
