As of July 24, 2020, cloth face covers are again required in food retail stores, supermarkets, banks, post offices, and for visitors to health care institutions.

Please be aware that masks continue to be mandatory e.g. on public transportation, in taxis, in pharmacies, and with service providers where keeping a minimum distance is not possible (for example, hairdressers).

World Population Day is an annual event, observed on July 11 every year, which seeks to raise awareness of global population issues. The event was established by the Governing Council of the United Nations Development Programme in 1989. The current world population is projected to be 7.8 billion people by July 2020. The World Population Day this year focuses on multiple challenges - health, economic and social. The COVID-19 crisis has not spared any country, rich or poor and has only highlighted these issues. Specifically this year the focus is on how to safeguard the health and rights of women and girls especially with the pandemic going on. The reasons for this are that reports have shown that domestic violence had increased globally amid the lockdown as well as the fact that women also account for the largest share of front-line health workers, according to a United Nations report. It is important to create and celebrate awareness in various communities all over the globe.
