Präzise Daten bilden die Grundlage für einen BIM-basierten Workflow und schaffen die Basis für den Digital Twin von jeglichen Bauwerken. In solchen Bedingungen Passpunkte (GCPs) für Drohnenflüge und LiDAR-Scans zu setzen, ist eine echte Herausforderung. Schon nach wenigen Stunden waren unsere sorgfältig platzierten Markierungen unter einer dicken Staubschicht kaum noch zu erkennen. Aber genau solche Herausforderungen gehören zu unserem Job!

Wir geben nicht auf und sorgen auch unter schwierigen Bedingungen für präzise Datenerfassung.

Invisible Markers, Visible Results
Accurate data is the foundation of a BIM-based workflow and the key to creating a reliable Digital Twin of any building. Setting ground control points (GCPs) for drone flights and LiDAR scans in these conditions is a real challenge. After just a few hours, our carefully placed markers were barely visible under layers of dust. But facing challenges like this is part of what we do!

Here’s a glimpse of what happens after data capturing: After a week of processing, we’re excited to share results from our on-site collection. Using LIDAR drones, photogrammetry, and GNSS, we’ve produced impressive outputs.
We captured orthophotos with a 2mm ground-sampling distance for highly detailed views. In addition, our team has created digital terrain models (DTM) – classified and cleaned terrain data that offers unparalleled accuracy for site analysis. Finally, we’ve developed high-resolution meshed polygon models, perfectly suited for exploration in our interactive WebGL viewer, offering stakeholders a seamless, real-time way to engage with the data.

These insights are now with Voltares (www.voltares.com) engineers, helping fine-tune the photovoltaic installations for peak performance.

Georgia boasts one of the highest shares of renewables in its electricity mix, primarily from hydro resources, which make up about 80% of the country's electricity generation. We’re proud to partner with Voltares (www.voltares.com) on a significant project aimed at expanding and diversifying Georgia’s renewable energy capacity.

Our teams spent several days on-site using advanced technologies, including LIDAR drones, photogrammetry systems, and GNSS measurement devices, to capture precise data. This data will be crucial for running simulations and determining the final layout of a large-scale photovoltaic installation, ensuring these projects can reliably meet the country’s future energy needs.
This project isn’t just about strengthening Georgia’s energy infrastructure; it’s also about supporting local communities and driving economic growth through sustainable green energy solutions.

We look forward to seeing the positive impact this project will have on local communities and the broader environment.
