The role of the project manager in software development!
In classic software development, the project manager is usually the person ensuring that software is developed to the satisfaction of the client.
The client defines the required functionality, and the project manager estimates the time and money needed to deliver the results. The project manager’s main responsibility is to meet predefined targets concerning functionality, budget and delivery dates. As the client’s goal is to get/receive as much functionality as soon as possible for as little money as possible, efficiency is key. Clearly, the more functionality a project manager can offer, the sooner he can deliver and the less the software costs, the more successful the project manager’s work is perceived.
