ensors and combined with a mobile gaming app. It allows you to play specifically designed games both alone and with a group of friends in- and outdoors. xDroid is complemented by special electronic checkpoints – xPoints – that the car can recognise by driving over them. To visualise this, imagine a classic racing video game: but instead of a virtual car we have a physical one – the xDroid. And instead of virtual checkpoints and bonuses, we have real xPoints that allow you to collect these features. To manoeuvre the car and control the gameplay, you only need a mobile device. In this way, we move the gaming experience to the real world – your backyard, a park or any playground. One example is the flag game in which one xPoint indicates the flag that players have to capture by driving over it. The player who captured the flag then needs to cover all other xPoints, while opponents try to steal it by bumping into her car. Players can even play the classical tag game in which they have to bump their opponent’s car to drop the tag. We also imagine a parent-child mode for example, where the parent can guide their child when manoeuvring the car – similar to a driving instructor when learning to drive a real car. In the end, the possibilities for gaming scenarios and what could be a “race” track are only limited by your imagination! Our social gaming platform is the core of the xDroid universe.
