🔦 Spotlight: Avdo Redzepagic, Software Developer at efsta

Today we would like to introduce Avdo Redzepagic, Software Developer in our development team at efsta. He started his career after graduating from the Faculty of Electrical Engineering in Sarajevo, where he joined a Sarajevo-based company as its first employee. Over the past five years, he contributed significantly to its growth and development while building strong expertise in software development.

Recently, Avdo decided to take the next step and moved to Austria to join efsta. In his current role, he works on our Fiscal Middleware solution, focusing on complex and regulated software systems while continuously deepening his knowledge in fiscalization.

✨ Fun facts & personal insights:

Growing up in Bihać alongside the river Una, being close to water has always been important to Avdo. Finding a similar environment in Steyr made the transition feel more familiar from day one.

Outside of work, Avdo enjoys almost every kind of sport. From football, cycling and running to martial arts, swimming, kayaking and skiing, he is always up for a challenge and gives his best in everything he does.

When it comes to travel, Avdo prefers exploring new and unfamiliar places. In his free time, you will most likely find him somewhere in the world with a large suitcase, discovering countries where he doesn’t speak the language and knows very little about. 😊

🤔 Wann wird aus einer einzelnen Transaktion ein echtes Risiko?

Gemeinsam mit Student*innen der Fachhochschule Hagenberg arbeiten wir an einem Machine-Learning-Projekt, das unsere Kunden und Partner frühzeitig über technische und operative Auffälligkeiten an Kassensystemen informiert.

Ziel ist es, Anomalien in fiskalischen Transaktionsdaten in Echtzeit zu erkennen – direkt in der Software und ohne starre Regeln. So lassen sich potenzielle Fehler, Compliance-Risiken oder ungewöhnliche Muster schneller identifizieren, bevor sie zum Problem werden.

Betreut wird das Projekt von unserem CTO Tom Schmiedlechner , der die Brücke zwischen Forschung und produktiver Anwendung schlägt. Wir freuen uns auf die Ergebnisse und den gemeinsamen Erkenntnisgewinn. 🙌

🔦 Spotlight: Doris Scheibenbauer, People Operations Manager at efsta

Today we would like to introduce Doris, our People Operations Manager at efsta. Over the years, she has built broad and hands-on experience in payroll, HR, and accounting across a variety of industries, including 13 years in a software company environment.

Around two and a half years ago, Doris decided to further strengthen her HR expertise by completing a foundational program in HR management. In her role at efsta, she supports the HR department across all areas, contributing to both day-to-day operations and upcoming projects.

✨ Fun facts & personal insights:
Outside of work, Doris enjoys spending time in nature. Running, cycling, hiking, and skiing are among her favorite activities.

To unwind, she enjoys solving crosswords and sudoku. And on hot summer days, you will most likely find her by the refreshing Steyr river, her favorite place to be. 😊

Weekly Cook – The Wild Garlic Temptation at the Office

This week, Christian cooked for us: wild garlic spaetzle – fresh, green, and with a real kick of wild garlic. And yes… they were just as good as they sound.

At efsta, there’s more to us than code, compliance, and APIs: We make a point of taking time to cook, eat, and chat together.

Why? Because good ideas often don’t just come up in meetings – they come up when we’re eating together.

Today we would like to introduce Faris, one of our Frontend Developers at efsta. His journey started in Mostar, where he moved to pursue his studies. Along the way, he gained valuable experience at one of the largest IT companies in Bosnia, working as a frontend developer in the iGaming industry while completing his degree.

At efsta, Faris focuses on creating modern and intuitive user interfaces, with the goal of continuously improving the user experience and delivering clean, efficient frontend solutions.

When he’s not in the office, you’ll most likely find Faris at the gym. He is deeply committed to his physical fitness, focusing on functional strength and athletic development.

Recently, he has also taken up boxing, a discipline that helps him sharpen his mental focus and maintain a high level of performance. For Faris, training is all about consistency, discipline, and the determination to reach his personal goals.
