This past Tuesday we welcomed the UX Vienna community to the sclable HQ to explore how design can help us see through complexity, not just make it look good.

Our UX Architect Tugyan Ertürk shared his perspective on navigating ambiguity with Future Scenario Design, which invites designers to expand their thinking, embrace uncertainty, and shape the systemic shifts ahead, including their own evolving roles within them.

Office space in times of remote work is becoming a luxury

We’re lucky to have a beautiful spot in Vienna’s first district, and after seven years of making full use of it, we’ve decided it’s time to rethink how we work and what people truly need for a supportive, creative environment.

Our multidisciplinary designer, Tugyan Ertürk, and our Director of Design, Michaela Holzmann, are developing the concept for our office remodel. With Tugyan’s background as an architect and Michaela’s past in architecture and interior design, they’re approaching it like true pros.

To create a forward-looking office concept, we need to understand:

🔵 How people move in spaces, what they do, how they behave, and what they want to achieve throughout their workday.

🔵 How the office is used, who comes daily, who visits a few times a week, and who comes mainly for social events. This sets the standards for the spaces we actually need.

🔵 What work requires, from welcoming customers, having time to talk and brainstorm, to quiet focus areas and (yes!) the all-important phone booths.

With Tugyan leading the design and Michaela sparring and inspiring, we know we’re in the best hands to shape the office we need, one that will inspire us and our customers to co-create a bright future.

When we started thinking about how to improve our office space, we didn’t begin with floorplans or mood boards. We started with conversations.

We sat down one-on-one with our team members to ask simple questions:

🔵 What helps you focus?
🔵 What makes you feel connected to the team?
🔵 Why do you choose to work from home some days, and what brings you into the office?

One thing became clear: sitting in front of a screen and getting tasks done is something people can already do from home.

So the office should offer something different. Something more.

We’re already creating this through biweekly breakfasts, team presentations, and game nights. But with this office replanning, we want to go further.

Our goal is to create spaces for new types of work. Collaborative, social, and creative experiences that simply don’t happen in the home office.

Each environment has its place in our work culture.
The office shouldn’t compete with home. It should complement it.

Here are just some of the inputs we received from our team, and we will use all of this input to inform our final office makeover concept.
