Today, on Aged Care Employee Day, we want to pause and say thank you to the people who make aged care what it is.

To the carers, nurses, lifestyle teams, support workers, cleaners, kitchen staff, volunteers, administrators, allied health professionals, managers, and everyone working behind the scenes - thank you for the patience, kindness, dignity, reassurance, and human connection you bring to older people and their families every day.

Today is a lovely day to say thanks to the aged care workers you interact with - even a few kind words can mean a lot.

We're proud to share that our Co-Founder, Fiona Symons, will be presenting at next week's Australian College of Nursing National Nursing Forum (NNF) in Melbourne.

The NNF is Australia's premier nursing conference, bringing together hundreds of nurses, researchers, educators, executives, and healthcare leaders to explore the future of nursing and celebrate innovation across the profession.

Fiona's poster, "CareWindow, a nurse-led digital innovation empowering independent connection," shares how a frontline nursing perspective and a family's lived experience sparked an idea that has grown into a communication solution supporting thousands of Australians to stay connected with loved ones and care teams.

The presentation aligns perfectly with this year's conference theme, "The Power of Nurses in a Changing World," highlighting the vital role nurses play in identifying unmet needs, driving innovation, and creating solutions that improve care both at the bedside and beyond.

We're especially proud to see Fiona representing CareWindow while continuing to contribute to the wider nursing profession. Alongside presenting her poster, she'll be attending as an Australian College of Nursing Emerging Nurse Leader (ENL). She has also been invited to moderate the Clinical Governance concurrent sessions on Thursday - an excellent opportunity to contribute to conversations shaping the future of nursing in Australia.

This week marked the end of our incredible journey with CSIRO's ON Accelerate Cohort 10.

It all started in November 2025, when CareWindow was selected as one of 20 teams for ON Accelerate Bootcamp. A few months later, after an intense Immersion Week, we were thrilled to be among the 10 ventures chosen to progress into the accelerator itself. What followed was 12 weeks of intensive learning, customer discovery, commercialisation, pitching, strategy, and growth. ON Accelerate is designed to help research-driven ventures build the skills, networks and business foundations needed to translate great ideas into real-world impact.

This week, that journey culminated at ON Translate 2026 in Melbourne, where I had the privilege of pitching CareWindow alongside some of Australia's most exciting deep-tech and research-driven startups.

Thanks to this program we have a far stronger business, a clearer growth strategy, an expanded network, and the confidence to think much bigger about the impact we can create.

I'm incredibly proud of what our team has achieved over the past eight months. The progress we've made wouldn't have been possible without the support of the ON team, our coaches, mentors, fellow cohort members, partners, customers, advisors and supporters who have challenged us, encouraged us and opened doors along the way.

A special thank you to the entire ON Program team for creating such a unique and transformative experience. Australia needs more programs that help bridge the gap between innovation and impact.

Importantly whilst it may be the end of ON Accelerate, it feels less like a finish line and more like the beginning of the next chapter.

We're excited for what's ahead.
