A brand only earns its keep when it leaves the screen.

For an agency, that means the stuff people actually touch. The sign on the lawn. The card handed over at an open home. The brochure left on the kitchen bench. That's where a property brand is really judged.

So that's where we put the Anreps identity to work.

The website refresh is in good hands separately, so the focus here was the print system that does the heavy lifting day to day.

Take a look at it in the wild.

If you've seen the Home Assist SA rebrand, or noticed Grande Kitchen & Bar's new look, you've already seen some of Terri's work without knowing it.

Terri runs Studio Sondar, and I hand a project to her whenever a client needs a website to match their brand spankin' new identity. We've collaborated on projects for long enough now that it's less "referral partner" and more "a mate who I trust to deliver the goods."

Two of her recent builds: Home Assist SA and Grande Kitchen & Bar, swipe through for a look at both, then stick around for a reel of more of her work.

If your brand's sorted but your website isn't, she's who I send people to.

A 30-year-old business deserves a brand that's caught up to it.

When we rebuilt the Anreps identity, the goal wasn't to make it trendy. It was to make it honest. Something that looked the way Sam and the team actually work: approachable, clear, and dependable.

We landed the personality on a blend of two ideas. The everyday neighbour who's easy to deal with, and the dependable hero who sorts the problem out. Property management lives right in the middle of those two.

Everything else followed from that.

Swipe through the system.

This logo used to run a house cleaning business. Within 2 years, Home Assist SA began delivering NDIS support and aged care across South Australia, and it was still wearing the old uniform.

Swipe through for the before, the after, and why one brand archetype wasn't enough to cover what this business actually does.

Full case study now live on the Journal. Link in bio.

Anreps Real Estate has been helping South Australians buy, sell and rent since 1989. Three decades of doing right by landlords and tenants.

The branding hadn't aged as well as the reputation.

The old identity still carried the look it launched with: dated, heavy, and a step behind the service it was sitting on top of. For a business built on being clear and dependable, the first impression wasn't saying that.

That's the thing about branding. It keeps talking even when you've moved on. And after 30 years, what it was saying no longer matched who Anreps had become.

Here's how we brought it into the present.

10 hours. Custom DM screen. A hand-designed dungeon map. And somehow, it all comes back to branding.

Running a Dungeons & Dragons campaign and designing a brand identity have more in common than you'd think. Both start the same way. With a conversation about goals, boundaries, and what kind of story you're trying to tell. At the D&D table, that's Session Zero. In a branding project, that's a Discovery Workshop. Same principles, different setting, and equally important to get right before anything else happens.

It's one of the reasons I care so much about the discovery process with clients. Get the foundation right early and everything that follows has something solid to build on. Skip it and you're just rolling dice and hoping for the best.

I wrote about this in a lot more detail over on the Longshot journal. Three parts covering everything from world-building and rulings to maps, resources, & homebrew, and how it all links back to brand design. Link in bio if you're curious, or just a little bit nerdy.

Every element in the Home Assist SA brand refresh was chosen for a reason. The colour isn't just a colour. The mark isn't just a mark.

Here's the thinking behind the identity system.

Values-based design that's genuine connects with an audience faster than chasing the next big thing.

Trends are fun to work with. I use them. But if your goal is to build a loyal client base and your brand isn't built around something real then your values, your point of view, the reason you actually do what you do, then you're building without a foundation.

There's nothing to hold it up when the trend moves on.

Your clients are smart. They can tell the difference between a business that stands for something and one that's just keeping up with what looked good last season. Build the thing that's actually yours.

Home Assist SA had been operating for just over 18 months when they came to Longshot Studio. The business was growing, their values were clear, and their team knew exactly who they were, but the brand didn't show it.

Their visual identity had been built in-house to get them started. It did the job at the time, but it had started blending into a sea of same-looking logos in the aged care and NDIS space. For a business built on genuine care and a clear sense of purpose, that invisibility was a problem.

So we went back to the foundation; we ran a full brand discovery process to surface what made them distinct, then rebuilt the visual identity around that.
