Hour of Code Hour of Code is a non-profit dedicated to expanding access to computer science, and increasing participation by women and underrepresented students of color.

Mission : To generate enthusiasm and interest in technology, and to be creative and having fun while solving problems. Our vision is that every student in every school should have the opportunity to learn computer science. We believe computer science should be part of core curriculum, alongside other courses such as biology, chemistry or algebra.

The Hour of Code is an initiative that takes place during CSEd Week (the second week of December) where everyone is encouraged to try programming for at least one hour. The idea behind the movement is very similar to getting a child to try a new food. Someone may think that they don’t have a taste for programming, but a great first experience might chance their mind.
