When I created the brand identity for Gold-Coast homeopath Root-Cause Wellness , we expanded beyond the usual simple logo and colour palette to additional elements. We created hand-drawn illustrations, based on herbs and flowers regularly used in treatments. We created a series of icons that are scattered throughout the website and can be used elsewhere if needed.

We also created some organic patterns that can be used for backgrounds on digital posts/websit sections or printed collateral.

I did this custom branding for Root-Cause Wellness earlier this year. She wanted a dandelion in her logo with art nouveau and art deco vibes, which I loved because those are my two favourite design eras! So we combined strong geometric shapes with soft flowing ones to create this logo.

We then used a soft, nature-inspired colour palette across her brand assets and the website we designed (more on that down the track).

Making your website doesn't need to be difficult. I know what it's like to have 14 different tabs open with YouTube video tutorials on how to edit every little element. And I also know you'd rather hire a pro but it's not in the budget.

That's why I created the DIY Wordpress template shop. I've taken my own custom designs that are tried and true, and turned them into fully editable files that you can customise to your heart's content. Or not! It's totally up to you.

Some shape and colour experimentation from a while back. There are so many fun directions you can take a brand's visuals when you have the right elements! Patterns are such an easy way to elevate it. Do we like the rainbow version or the blue version more? 🤔

On 10 May 2025, I married my husband. It was a beautiful but busy day and I'm so glad we have these photos to help me remember a lot of it! Liam, thank you for standing opposite me at that altar. I am so grateful to have you as my best friend, number one supporter, and now life partner!

I've been a little quiet on here, enjoying the post-wedding bubble. But I've been working on a lot of things as well that I'm keen to share with you.

In the meantime, enjoy these photos from the day.

A rejected logo concept that I still love. What the client chose did work better for the project but I'd love to do something like this again in the future, if you're interested and think it would suit your brand. ;)

I might offer this one as a semi-custom.

One thing I strongly believe in is brand strategy: laying down the foundation of what your brand is all about before we even begin any design. Last year, I tried offering branding without strategy in the form of single-day intensives because there's HUGE demand for them. And the end results of those intensives look really good!

But I feel better if I know that the work I'm producing for clients is going to stand the test of time and allow them to grow. And I just feel that's a lot more likely when you take the time to really think about what you're doing.

So this year, I've gone back to only offering branding with strategy included. Does this mean branding costs more and takes a few weeks instead of a single day? Yes. Does it also mean a better end result? YES.

If I ever offer intensives again, I'll probably make them longer and require more client homework prior. But for now, I'm very excited to go back to focusing on carefully building cohesive, immersive brand worlds with my clients – where every touch point feels 'on point'.
