We've added a new high-performance filament to the store: Polymaker Fiberon PET-GF15 in Light Grey.

It's a PET-based filament reinforced with 15% glass fibre, offering high stiffness, excellent dimensional stability, and heat deflection up to 133°C after annealing. It prints at speeds up to 250mm/s and is compatible with AMS systems.

A great option for functional prototypes and durable end-use parts. Just be sure to use a hardened nozzle.

Pushed a site update that makes browsing collections and products a bit snappier. On desktop, resources now preload when you hover over menus or click through,

Known quirks: it doesn't work on dynamically loaded sections like "recently viewed" or suggested products yet, and Firefox with strict privacy settings may not allow the pre‑fetching.

Looking for something a bit tougher than standard ABS? Have a look at our DREMC PC-ABS Filament.

It's a polycarbonate and ABS blend that delivers higher heat resistance and improved strength under load, all without needing to anneal the material like nylon or PET. It's designed for professionals and hobbyists who need durable, temperature-resistant parts.

Printing does require a heated chamber of at least 50-90°C to get the best results. The filament is available in black from $28.95 AUD, bulk pricing from 3+ spool! Also now available in FR edition, flame retardant requirements.

After years of testing, the 0.5mm nozzle has become our go-to in the workshop.

Here's the quick version:
20-30% faster prints without changing any other settings
Handles abrasive filaments (carbon fibre, glass fibre) without clogging
Stronger parts with better layer adhesion
No noticeable detail loss for most functional prints compared to 0.6mm
Sits in a thermal sweet spot - unlike 0.6mm, stock hotends can keep up

Our full write-up covers real-world results and when a 0.4mm still makes sense: https://store.dremc.com.au/blogs/news/0-4mm-vs-0-5mm-nozzle-real-world-results-after-years-of-testing

Choosing the Right 3D Printer Nozzle Material.

A quick TL;DR:

Brass is great for standard PLA and PETG but wears quickly with abrasives. Hardened steel lasts much longer but needs higher temperatures due to lower thermal conductivity. Other options like diamond tungsten carbide offer different trade-offs between wear resistance and heat transfer.

The post covers the pros and cons of each material to help you pick the right nozzle for the filaments you use most.
