Today marks my three hundredth day in space, something my shipmates are wanting to celebrate. However I’d rather just spend the day in my bunk watching comedy panel shows and pretending I was back home. (2026) by Eris Alar

After doing the previous Feigned Glass painting I really wanting to do another, and this is the result. I’m quite proud of how the foreground triangles interplay with the background circles. The colours ended up not quite how I had planned, these paintings happen in stages and one of my ‘rules’ is to not have the same colour panels orthogonal to each other, but it seems my starting shades for a couple were too close as in sections of this they look the same. I kept them as the overall vibe is what I wanted and I felt just getting the piece finished was more important than spending another X amount of time on it.

For many years I worked on developing this style of fake stained glass painting, and then about 2 years ago I basically stopped making them as it seemed they were not very appealing to folks buying my art (although I have sold a few and am extremely grateful to each of you who bought one).

But i personally like the look of them and the process making them so spent a few hours over the last few days making this. I’m debating if I get some prints of it and a few of my favourite older ones made to take to the on July 18 & 19, what do you think?

Thanks to the folks who purchased some of my art at Tabletopcon!

It’s been fourteen days since we last spotted space whales. Klargon thinks we’ve successfully outrun them but I’m not so sure. Those mysterious giants scare the gorp out of me and I’m anxious about letting my guard down. (2026) by Eris Alar

More exploration of softer colours and gentler tones. I think I’m getting more comfortable with it.
