We're raising $5,000 to take our mobile letterpress studio to the 2027 Tamworth Country Music Festival.
Over three days, three emerging bands will see their sound set in wood type and printed live, with festival crowds pulling the prints. With your support, three new acts walk away with authentic, hand-printed analogue art they can use to promote themselves across the country music scene, long after the festival ends.
Tax-deductible through the Australian Cultural Fund. Link in bio to donate. Creative Australia

Live & Loud: three bands, three posters, three days of live letterpress at Tamworth 2027. We need $5,000 to get there.
Every band remembers its first proper gig poster. These ones get set by hand, pulled on the press in front of a festival crowd, and they're the band's to keep. This exact moment won’t come around again.
Tax-deductible through the Australian Cultural Fund. Link in bio to donate.

We’re raising $5,000 to take our mobile letterpress studio to the 2027 Tamworth Country Music Festival.

Tamworth Regional Council has offered us a spot on the Fringe, and it’s ours if we raise the money. Three bands, Rusty Pickups among them. Three gig posters, set by hand and printed live. Three days of anyone who wanders past having a go at printing.

Sorts: sorted. Presses: ready. All we need now is the funding to get there.

The money covers band fees, plates, paper, ink, and getting the Pop Up Press down the highway. Thursday is , our big day to close the gap.

Chip in if you can, share if you can’t. Tax-deductible through the Australian Cultural Fund. Link in bio.

Thank you to the Queensland Bookbinders Guild for having us at your October meeting. Clint Harvey shared Moveable Type Studio’s work in letterpress and book arts, from printing blocks and type to the research projects we’ve embarked on along the way.

About 20 people joined us in the room and nine more tuned in on Zoom, making it the Guild’s first talk streamed to members. It was a pleasure to see relief blocks passed from hand to hand and members sharing their own work, including some glorious marbled papers. Michelle Vandermeer of Shelbyville Bookbinding also shared some insights from her perspective of the two-day letterpress and Coptic bookbinding workshop we ran with her last year.

Thanks to Bernard Milford and the QBG committee for the warm invitation. It was a thoroughly enjoyable night, and wonderful to see so many people passionate about books and print culture. We look forward to future collaborations.
