Octopus Deploy

Octopus Deploy Accelerate software delivery with repeatable deployments

Octopus takes over where your Continuous Integration server and other devops tools end, enabling you to easily automate even the most complicated application deployments, whether on-premises or in the cloud.

Deploying code is only part of running a system, and this session covers the part that usually gets figured out the hard way: operations. We'll explain what a runbook actually is, the difference between something you schedule to run automatically and something you trigger on demand, and how to structure a basic emergency or rollback runbook you can trust when things go wrong at 2am. This isn't theoretical; deploying faster and recovering more reliably are among the biggest reasons people come to Octopus in the first place, and runbooks are the mechanism that makes it real. You'll leave with a template you can adapt to your own team's incident process.

As agentic coding changes the way teams work, there is a growing need to bring AI agents into the deployment process. Whether for investigating failed deployments or running QA checks, teams currently face a difficult choice: run agents outside of Octopus with heavy manual coordination, or run them as unmanaged scripts that are difficult to audit and secure.

We're now introducing the Claude Agent step (alpha) to provide a better way.

This lets you run a Claude agent as a step inside a runbook or deployment process. By using the credentials and deployment context Octopus already manages, you can run agentic workflows within a sandboxed, scoped, and fully audited environment.

Join us to:
- See the Claude Agent step in action
- Explore use cases like automated troubleshooting and QA
- Ask your questions live

Learn how the Claude Agent step can help you move from manual coordination to safe, agentic workflows in your Octopus deployment pipelines.

We’re introducing Octopus Approvals, a built-in change approval system.

If you need to control who can approve a deployment, or require multiple people to sign off before a deployment proceeds, you can now configure approval rules with Octopus Approvals.

Previously, the closest option was a Manual Intervention step, which pauses a deployment at a specific point in the process and waits for someone to take action. It only supports one approver, doesn’t require approval or rejection notes, and can be skipped depending on how the deployment process is configured.

Octopus Approvals gives you a built-in way to require one or more people to approve a deployment before it starts. Approval rules live outside the deployment process, so they can't be skipped the way a Manual Intervention step can. Define the rules at the space level and apply them across your projects and environments, so the right people can review and approve changes before they happen.

Join us to:
- See Octopus Approvals in action
- Walk through use cases like gating sensitive production environments, protecting a QA environment that's in use, or blocking the deployment creator from approving their own deployment
- Learn how to configure approval rules
- Ask your questions live

Can’t make it to the live session? Register anyway, and we’ll send you the recording.

One of the top reasons people sign up for Octopus is to standardize how their team deploys, and that starts with getting environments and lifecycles right. This session covers what environments actually are, how lifecycles and phases control where a release can go next, and how channels let you handle different types of releases differently. Then we walk through promoting a real release through Dev, Test, and Prod, the way Octopus is built to handle it, not a workaround bolted on top. If your deployments currently rely on someone remembering the right order of steps, this is the session that replaces that with something repeatable.

AI in DevOps is powerful… but only if you can trust the output.
In this post, Jubril Oyetunji shows how to safely create projects with the Octopus AI Assistant—using Git-backed configuration so every change is visible, auditable, and reversible.

A practical way to use AI without losing control.

A lot of the conversation around internal developer platforms gets pulled toward portals. This post argues for a platform-first mindset, and why solid foundations matter more than a slick interface.

Argo CD solves syncing brilliantly—but what happens next?

How do you take a change from dev and automate it all the way to prod?
How do you keep your Argo CD instances up to date across environments?

These aren’t simple problems.
That’s exactly where Octopus Deploy comes in.
