WEEKEND THAT WAS…

Inspirational… getting the creative sparks flowing. From Friday’s art group - Im alternating a couple of still life oil paintings - Seven oranges and Nasturtiums 💐 Hopefully they’ll turn out as good as the Golden Wattle series. It’s so relaxing painting for me but still discovering my style and technique but getting inspired 🖼️

Dog sitting for a mate so we have Humphrey B Bear for the week and I took the doggos - James James the Red Dog + Humph for the long hike up Mt Cootha Summit lookout. They loved it and Brisbane city view on a clear day is always spectacular! 🌇

❤️ Cafe signs that I think were intended for me! 🦆🦆🦆

Sat night circle of friends + charcuterie board + 🍷 + 🐶🐕 + 🔥🔥🔥🔥 always good for the soul. Inspirations.

Dogue vs Vogue: underdog bites back at fashion giant in copycat row!

The one-woman show who runs The Dogue Magazine DOGUE Magazine™ with a large instagram following featuring dressed-up pets (article has Fursace on the cover - not Versace 🤣) is standing up for herself against the powerful Vogue, Vanity Fair, GQ publisher Condé Nast.

It’s a copyright, creative content and intellectual property law suit. Which is you can’t copy, reproduce or exploit original ideas under copyright paws oops laws - ha ha.

I recall years ago there was an insurance company copycat law suit SGIO vs GIO about branding that went to Federal Court in . GIO had used same colours, fonts, look and had to establish a 30% difference - it was piggybacking for sure, but GIO won!

Purchased by Australia in 1973 for around $1.3 million, it’s now valued at an extraordinary half a Bill $$$. Pollock’s work is fascinating - abstract painting looks deceptively easy, but creating something that feels balanced, energetic and engaging is really hard. I’ve always admired his work.

A mixed bag of news today!

First up sad news - Dolly Parton. 💕 What a legend. She’s always been like Marilyn Monroe of the music world - iconic, glamorous and talented - what a woman. 🎤✨

I remember going to the movies to see 9-5 when I was a little girl and feeling empowered… I’ll definitely be playing some Dolly today!

They both look amazing hanging together. I prefer painting flowers, but these are smudges of my favorite colours and make me smile 😊
