✨ Meet Our Team – Mariana Barbosa, Junior Consultant ✨

From Mining Engineering at Federal University of Minas Gerais (UFMG), to joining Datamine as an intern in 2022, Mariana Barbosa progressed into a Junior Consultant supporting open-pit mine planning across different mining operations.

From someone who enjoys picnics around Belo Horizonte outside work, DataBlast implementation in Brazil became a defining project for her. Mariana handled configuration, user training, and technical support, working with the client to adapt the system to site-specific drilling and blasting requirements.

As her first implementation, it required independent delivery, changes to the standard process, and collaboration with Datamine’s global teams to resolve technical challenges. The result was a more structured drilling and blasting workflow. Centralising operational data in DataBlast improved consistency, communication, and confidence in daily decisions.

The experience taught Mariana that successful implementation starts with understanding how each mine operates and adapting technology to its reality.
