✨ Meet Our Team – Alec Graham, Geology Consultant ✨

Alec Graham is comfortable navigating unfamiliar terrain, whether sea kayaking around Vancouver Island or helping a mining company move from one legacy platform to Datamine’s Geology solutions.

He combines an Earth Sciences background with practical experience in field mapping and brownfield geology. The client needed geological wireframes and block models recreated in Studio RM, together with repeatable procedures its geologists could use independently. Alec understood the new environment, while the client’s team understood how the legacy models had been created, so they built the transition together.

Alec compared modelling approaches with the geologists, translated existing methods into Datamine workflows, produced preliminary models and trained users throughout the process.
The team adopted Studio RM, Geo, Supervisor, Ore Controller and Mapper as a connected suite, improving consistency, automation and model quality. For Alec, a successful migration does not replace customer knowledge; it carries that knowledge into a better way of working.

✨ Meet Our Team – Rodrigo Klein, Production Solutions Consultant ✨

“How do you build a Production Accounting system for an operation that is still taking shape?” Rodrigo Klein faced that question while supporting a copper-molybdenum project in Peru, from its greenfield implementation through its ongoing evolution.

Now based in Canada, Rodrigo balances his passion for exploring museums, architecture, and local coffee shops with helping mining operations solve metal accounting challenges. He brings a unique combination of experience: nearly a decade as a Chemical Technician, a Mining Engineering degree, and five years with Datamine.

As a Functional Consultant, he translated metallurgical and business requirements into a Production Accounting configuration that reflected the site’s processes, operational objectives, and reporting needs.

Some requirements did not align with the solution’s standard capabilities, so Rodrigo worked closely with the client to understand the underlying business needs, maintain open communication, and identify practical alternatives that supported operational goals while preserving the integrity of the metal accounting process.

The implementation automated metal accounting while improving transparency, traceability, and confidence in production data.

“How can one person’s opinion make an impact?” Jamie Walters once asked that question as a MineScape user. Today, as a Datamine Principal Consultant Geology she helps turn geologists’ experience into MineScape Geology enhancements.

With a geology degree from the University of Wollongong, 20 years in Australian coal, and more than six years using MineScape in industry, Jamie understands which modelling workflows work and where they create friction. She acts as a conduit between customers and the development team, translating mining context into clear requirements and technical development details into practical language.

Jamie gathers feedback to understand how coal geologists work, identifies development opportunities, and tests new functionality before release. This dialogue turns shared customer needs into enhancement priorities while giving users confidence that their feedback can influence the product.

Jamie not only listens to feedback; she also examines how geologists use the software. She believes useful development starts with hearing the people doing the work.
