We just attended the 2026 techpartner.news Impact Awards down in Sydney and have some big news to report…

Smile IT won a ‘Highly Commended’ Award in the Social Impact Partner of the Year category!

We were recognised for our work alongside Sunshine Coast Council and WeRide Australia on the RideScore Active Schools Program. Both partners deserve a massive shoutout - active school travel was boosted by 55% across 14 schools on the Sunny Coast. Awesome to see technology result in such tangible positive outcomes!

This is a super proud moment for us. Thanks to techpartner.news for putting on a fantastic night celebrating the best of the Australian ICT channel, and to William Maher and Velvet-Belle Templeman for the awesome event.

The new office has officially been christened!

Stoked to report that we pulled off our first team lunch at our new office, celebrating the move the traditional Smile way: boeries on the grill, plenty of laughs, and a few very questionable fashion choices.

A special shoutout to Peter, Mike and Steve for firing up the BBQ and keeping the team well fed. It's awesome to see the new space already bringing the team together.

Here's to the first of many more memories in our new home.

Diana Sauerbrey from Acronis has been in our office this week, all the way from Switzerland!

We've been working with Acronis on a project that lines up well with what Smile IT is all about: growing ourselves, our customers, and the people around us. What a pleasure to sit down with Diana and work through the details face to face.

We’ve built up good momentum as a result, and we’re really excited about where this project is heading.

These are the results the RideScore Active Schools program were able to deliver, and exactly why Smile IT has just been named a CRN Award Finalist in the Environmental Social Category!

We're incredibly proud to have partnered with the Sunshine Coast Counciland We Ride Australia to bring the tech behind this initiative to life.

But seeing real community impact? That's what really makes us smile. 88,000km of active travel, 12.8 tonnes of CO2 saved, and parents who can wave their kids off knowing they'll arrive to school safely.

It's official - we're moving!

This August, Smile IT is packing up and heading to a bigger space in Tingalpa.

We started out in a garage, now we're a team of 70-plus heading into office number five. It’s been quite a journey!

Huge thanks to our clients for sticking with us along the way. And please don't stress - we're moving over the weekend so it won't affect your service at all.

We can't wait to show you the new place!

14 Sunshine Coast schools are part of the RideScore Active Schools Program, and they’ve seen a 55% increase in active travel as a result!

Smile IT delivered the technology behind the successful program, working alongside WeRideAustralia and Sunshine Coast Council to implement it. Now more kids are riding to school, leading to less congestion on the roads and safer communities.

The program's success has earned us a finalist spot in the Social Impact Partner of the Year category at the techpartner.news Impact Awards.
