Can Google's AI Memory Compression Algorithm Help Solve the RAM Crisis?

Google has unveiled a new, highly advanced AI compression algorithm named TurboQuant that significantly reduces the amount of RAM needed for AI inference by at least 6x. This research breakthrough targets the "Key-Value cache"—the working memory AI uses to retain conversation context—speeding up processing by up to 8x without significant loss in accuracy.

TurboQuant makes AI models more efficient but doesn't reduce output quality like other methods.
