I painted over a half-finished artwork that had some parts I genuinely loved. There were colours, textures and little details that I wanted to keep, but the overall piece just didn’t feel like me.
A while ago, I probably would have kept pushing through just because I’d already spent so much time on it. But I’ve realised that forcing something to work rarely leads to my best art.
Every painting teaches me something—even the ones that never make it to the finish line.
Painting over this canvas wasn’t a failure. It was choosing to trust my creative instincts and make space for something that feels more like my style.
