🚨 2026 Scam Support Guide - Now Available

Scams continue to evolve every year, and unfortunately Australians lost over $2.18 billion to scams in 2025 according to Scamwatch, ReportCyber and other reporting organisations.

To help my clients, family and the wider community stay informed, I've updated the Scam Support Guide for 2026 "How to Spot Scams and Malicious Acts":

https://cpkncomputers.com.au/scam-support/

This year's edition includes:

βœ” Updated scam statistics and trends
βœ” Modern scam examples and warning signs
βœ” Email, phone call and text message scams info
βœ” Fake websites and phishing techniques
βœ” Remote access scams
βœ” Practical tips to help protect yourself, your family and your business

Whether you're comfortable with technology or just want to know what to look out for, I hope this guide helps someone avoid becoming the next victim.

Feel free to download it, share it with friends and family, or pass it on to someone who could benefit.

If you ever receive something that doesn't look right and you're unsure, don't guess - get a second opinion. I'd much rather spend a few minutes helping confirm something is legitimate than see someone lose their money or personal information to a scam.

Stay safe everyone. πŸ’™

Cheers,

Chris

Technology seems to be changing faster than ever in 2026.

Whether you're a home user or running a business, you've probably noticed the growing use of AI tools, more online services, and unfortunately, more scams and cyber security threats.

Some of the most common issues I'm seeing include:

πŸ”Ή Scam emails and text messages becoming much more convincing.

πŸ”Ή People receiving phone calls from scammers pretending to be banks, government departments, Microsoft, or other trusted organisations.

πŸ”Ή Old computers struggling to keep up with newer software and security requirements.

πŸ”Ή Important files not being backed up properly.

πŸ”Ή Uncertainty around AI tools such as ChatGPT, Co-pilot, and Gemini, including what information should and shouldn't be shared with them.

The good news is that you don't need to be a technology expert to stay protected. A few simple steps such as keeping software updated, using strong passwords, enabling multi-factor authentication, and maintaining good backups can significantly reduce your risk.

I'm interested to hear from everyone...

πŸ’¬ What's your biggest technology concern at the moment?

Is it security?
AI?
Slow computers?
Scam calls?
Something else?

Whether you're a home user or a business owner, I'd love to hear your thoughts.
